Ignore the Media. Democrats are United
One of the first headlines I was greeted with this morning on CNN was something to the tune of, "Democrats are Divided". I'm sorry. We're what?
This year Democrats who vote after traditional super Tuesday states will have a say in which candidate represents us in our bid for the White House. We're excited. We're energized. We're motivated. We most certainly are not divided.
As nasty as primary season gets, I've never felt my party more involvede in the process of selecting our nominee, even if we don't agree on which candidate will do the best job.
I see record numbers of Democrats participating in the electoral process. I marvel at the number of voters from all age groups, both genders, all skin colors and ethnic heritage who have trekked to the polls to vote and I'm now hoping the process won't end until it makes it to North Carolina.
Of course, it appears that the press has its own agenda - to paint Democrats as a divided, unhappy lot. Sure we're picking on each other. That goes with the territory, but when push comes to shove we are united.
Democrats are more united than I can remember in my 28 years of voting and our excitement and enthusiasm will only grow as November approaches. We will support our eventual nominee if for no other reason than at the end of the day, we will make history.
That's right. In 2008 Democrats make history and each time I get a bit down that John Edwards is no longer in the running, I remember this. Each time I get a bit peeved at Hillary or Barrack or their supporters, I remember that together we are making history.
In 2008 Democrats make history.
It takes your breath away doesn't it?

History has been made already.
If the radio reports I listened to this afternoon are to be believed, turnout in Democratic primaries so far has well exceeded anything in recent memory.
Even with the back and forth on this site and others about Obama or Clinton, make no mistake, the Democratic party is more united than it has ever been. People are engaged and excited -- we support the process enthusiastically, and we will support our eventual nominee enthusiastically.
And it will be a Blue Year for the US and for NC. Those are my on the record predictions.

Back in 2000
candidate George Bush told us "I'm a uniter, not a divider." Turns out maybe he was right after all (although I don't really think a united Democrat Party was what he had in mind).
Well, we are Democrats, after all
We have a long tradition of being disunited.
The Hillary Obama fight sure is a tight one. In fact it's so close that I reckon we're going to get a hell of a battle out of it here in NC. Should be very, very, very interesting.

It gives me hope and consternation
Hope because the republican madness may soon be over. Consternation because I fear that although the power-holders may change, will anything else?
No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.
Progressive Discussions
It will change if we make them change.
That's the only way.

The remaining Democratic Candidates for President
are not my cup of tea, I must admit, but I'm very happy that we are going to take back the White House. That is so important regarding not only returning the government of this country to the people of this country, but returning the Judicial Branch of this country to the people of this country. Appointments of Federal and Supreme Court Justices needs to be brought back into line with the mainstream of the American public, as opposed to the Salem Witch Trial judges that BushCo has appointed.
We are united, enough.
North Carolina. Turning the South Blue!

Heh....they're not my cup of tea either
I know that our job isn't done in November. What I do know is that Obama and Clinton are better than any Republican. I think maybe the Bush Democrats wouldn't agree, but then they really aren't Democrats.

Divided? Bah!
Wait till after the convention. Then we'll see who's divided!
