Is Gay the new Black?
Interesting.
If you were wondering where Bush would get his extra troops, General John M. Shalikashvili (ret.), chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1993 to 1997, says it may be time to allow gay and lesbian soldiers in the US Military.
To me, what we have here isn't inclusion as much as a way to get extra bodies - sacrificial ones - on the front lines. History repeats itself.
I fear Pastor Martin Niemöller's words will be forgotten.

Listening to him on CNN earlier
and the counter-pointer said all the same things about women being in the military that they are now using for gays. "You don't want a romance in the fox-holes...."
No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.
If they come to the right conclusion...
does it matter how they get there?
Homosexuals have been serving in the military since... forever? It was risky for them... one misstep and they were out, regardless of the length or character of their service... but they served. "Don't ask, don't tell" was intended to liberalize military policy and put an end to the periodic witch hunts. The issue has always been a straw man for conservative hang-ups, and it's way past time to put it behind us.
