Its a bird, its a plane, no its... New Mexicos Governor... Seriously?
For the next installment of "What superhero/villain would the be?" I turn to my next favorite political clown of the moment: Bill Richardson.
For those of you not familiar with Governor Richardson, he is currently Governor of New Mexico and a second-tier candidate for the Democratic Nomination for President. A former Cabinet member and UN ambassador Richardson likes to play up his executive experience. He also likes to demonstrate how all-American and wholesome he is, so much so that he once told a great story about being drafted by the then-Kansas City Athletics, the only trouble was it was just that. A story. How he thought no one would figure out that he had not actually been the starting pitcher for a major athletic team at any point in his life is beyond the imagination of anyone.
Also he was recently in the news for a fundraising apeal that was...shall we say interesting? Apparently he was sending fundraising letters to solid Clinton supporters asking that he may be their "Second Choice". I guess it worked in a way as he raised the most of the second-tier Democrats, but if that doesnt say "Striving for Mediocrity" I dont know what does.
So this might lead you to the question, "Were he a Superhero/Villian...which one would he be?" Well fear no longer faithful reader because through my amazing abilities I have discerned that Bill Richardson is in fact...The US AGENT
At this point most of you will be scratching your head and saying...WHO?
I assure you though the US Agent is an actual comic character. He began as an ally to Steve Rogers bka Captain America (may he rest in peace) called the Super-Patriot, and would later fill in as CAP when Steve was otherwise detained. Well at some point someone decided he needed to stay around fulltime in a costume that was similar to though not quite Caps and be redubbed as The US Agent (I mean super-patriot was clearly too kitsch, or perhaps not kitsch enough?) The knockoff Captain American would go on to have many adventure with the Knock-off Avengers I mean Avengers West Coast, none of which were particuarly memborable. Recently as part of the fall-out of Marvels "Civil War" it has been revealed that the US Agent would be joining the Canadian team Omega Flight (which to mean seems strangely fitting that he would end up in the place just like America...but not quite). And so being the Mediocre knock-off though Im sure a perfectly nice but not really quite up to snuff to the point of comedic hilarity guy that he is, clearly Bill Richardson must be the US Agent in his spare time.

That must be why the Child King sent him to North Korea
Bush had a job opening for "US Agent" and Mr. Bill apparently applied.
he has been used
by the Bush administration in negotiations because he is the best we have. The Clinton administration used him countless times. I disagree with some of his domestic policy ideas, but he is quite simply the best diplomat we have available right now.

Anyone who actually knows the story of US Agent is okay in my book. Although, I would have said he was Dr. Henry Pym.
