That wind was pretty bracing for our little walk through the streets of Raleigh. A couple of guys walked by and said, "And what are we protesting today?" Someone told them, "Elizabeth Dole."
I had prepared some chants but of course, felt that my peculiar Texas humor might not be appreciated by the campaign or media. (Along the lines of: "Poor kids need more shoes and socks!/Liddy has plenty to buy Botox.")
I won over a voter in the coffee shop while we waited to march. It is pretty "easy-peasey" as my son's third grade friends say.
And a serious aside: One of the College Dem women from Peace College told me how, in 1998, she was in the US Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, when it was bombed. She was injured, and called it the worst day of her life. My husband was in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, the same day when the Embassy was bombed at the same time, and he spent the day with the injured(he was not at the embassy but at another government office of the USA). We have been kept in fear by Republicans who have used terrorism to change this country, and not for the safer or better.
I just find it interesting that in this small group, at least two people whose lives were directly impacted by a terror attack, chose to stand with a Democratic candidate who wants change.

Possibly. One thing I haven't blogged about, yet, is that for the past 9 months I have been a member of the Special Transit Advisory Commission for the Triangle region. Our last big meeting is an all day affair at Sigma Xi in RTP tomorrow. I may be chillin' at 5:30 but I'll see if I can swing it.

I'm not sure if it's merely the visual strength of a sign with two first names on it, or the fact that Jim Neal is perfect for our beautiful state right now, but for some reason those campaign signs sure stand out. Best of success on the campaign, and I hereby promise to attend all get-togethers I can in the near future. To Jim.

after running a few errands for the campaign, I saw a car I had never seen before in front of me on Wade Ave. But there was something familiar on it - as I drove a little closer to see it, it was confirmed - a Jim Neal bumper sticker!

Very Cool
Wonderful picture. I love it.
Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

Wonderful!
I absolutely adore you!

Cool!
Great job, Greg!
Looks like a lot of fun.
Will I see you tomorrow at Marshall's event at the Headquarters?

Neal bumper sticker
I've got an extra one. I'll give it to you tonight at Marshall's fundraiser if I can get out of the office in time to get there.
