Jones calls out Bush: Dole & McHenry do disappearing act
When all hell breaks loose in national politics, Liddy Dole is usually the first one rushing to the cameras to deliver mindless Republican talking points, with little Patty McHenry not far behind. So where are the two Bushbots this week as the story of White House unethical firing of eight US attorneys?
They are completely invisible. The only NC Republican who has managed to find his voice is Walter Jones.
U.S. Rep. Walter Jones is joining a growing list of Republicans who have expressed concern over the current leadership of the U.S. Department of Justice.
::
"While I recognize that all U.S. Attorneys serve at your pleasure, recent news reports alleging the improper political influence of partisan politics in the decision to terminate several U.S. Attorneys are most disturbing," Jones wrote.
Dole. Burr. McHenry. Hayes. Coble. Foxx. Useless.

I'm pretty sure Dole, Burr and McHenry
have great admiration for Mr. Gonzales' lust to usurp the balance of power in our government so Republicans can rule us as kings. Unfortunately, it appears that he has finally been caught with his hand squarely in the cookie jar.
If they defend him, it will simply prove they are part of the conspiracy to
usurp our Republic. We already know that...but this would simply add
proof.
Or, they can play like they really give a damn and ask him to step down.
Their call...but, being silent is an indictment in itself.
Jone's letter will likely have the same impact his letter about the Border Patrol Agents had....boopkis! But, he stood up!
As more
and more Repubs begin calling for Gonzo to step down, when the tide is so overwhelmingly against him, THEN Dole and her little lapdog will step forward and join the shouts for his resignation. It's not a matter of principle for these people; it's a matter of going with the flow once the saturation point is reached. You watch. It'll happen.

Throw Gonzales under the bus?
With the contempt the shrub and his court (I used to call them his court of jesters but they do much too much harm to be that) have shown for everyone and everything we believe in, why should he give liddy and her friends anything new to talk about? Following his normal pattern, somehow I don't see him doing anything but defending his pet puppet, Gonzales.
Better late than never
Although it is good that people are starting to "Call Bush Out", Congressman Jones only stated calling Bush out when it became safe and even somewhat fashionable.
When desent was reason enough to call into question ones patriotism, Congressman Jones was silent.
When our bodies started piling up, but it was still open season on desent, he was silent.
Okay Anglico, you are right to recognize this effort, but it really may have made a difference eighteen months ago when it was still a little dangerous to cross Tom Delay or the President.
Congressman Jones support is fair weathered, but better late than never.
There's a few
realistic thoughts! On the other hand, McIntyre...is strangely silent...isn't he.
