Kay Hagan Sweeps NP Endorsements and is Featured on CNN
The title of this piece says it all. Kay Hagan has been featured in the national media and is favored in local media. Democrats, Republicans and Unaffiliated votes alike stand ready to support her with their vote.
One of our volunteers at a phone bank talked to a Republican voter who had been identified as soft on Dole. When asked which candidate he would support at the polls he said he wouldn't be voting for that carpetbagger and neither would his wife. You gotta love it when they quote our talking points back to us.
The N&O finally put their endorsement out today. That makes it a clean sweep of the state's major newspapers for Hagan.

Who the heck falls for that?
Who believes her when she says Republicans will create jobs in the alternative energy technology area?

Dole Hides Her New GOP McCarthyism Behind A Race Card
Dole is pushing some old tired story about Kay's husband who worked hard from within a segregated country club to push them to desegregation in 1995. Dole is accusing Kay of some race-based nonsense out of the sheer panic filled desperation of a soon to be loser.
Chip chose to work from within the organization to continue to push for desegregation until it was ulimately accomplished. It is much easier to run away from a fight than to stand your ground and continue to push for change--no matter how long it took. But the worse crime is to stay silent when social justice is flagrantly violated. Sen Dole is using this 13 year old issue to deflect attention from her current violations of social justice: For example, to belong to a party which has prominent members who accuse Americans with Democratic political beliefs of being Anti-American for those political beliefs and to stay silent as Sen Dole is doing right this very minute. Senator Dole's silent endorsement of new Republican McCarthyism is despicable. Where is your outrage Liddy?
And just where does Sen Dole stand on the "pro-American and anti-American sections of the country" allegations of her party? Which sections of North Carolina are anti-American? Where is her outrage about dividing and segregating the state along these lines ?Are Chapel Hill, Greensboro, Asheville, Charlotte, Durham anti-American or pro-American? What about Cary and Pineville and Southern Pines? Anti-American?
Tell us ,Sen Dole, about where you stand on the social justice violations happening this very moment to which you are contributing by your silence--not distract us with old news that was long ago resolved. Will you stand up for rectifying this affront to social justice Senator Dole or are you just too tired and too old to stand up anymore?
Go Kay Go!
Kay has run an amazing campaign and I am proud of her and her campaign staff. She deserves those endorsements and deserves to win. She will make us proud.

If it makes anybody feel good
I'm much closer to being a Republican than most anyone else here and I'm supporting Hagan and encouraging everyone else to do so as well.
yes, I think that is rather helpful to know
I think after this election there will be people commenting about how there was this big, big BUBBLE called Dole and that it was so large and blob-like that it frightened people.
But dang, along comes Kay Hagan, whose qualifications easily dwarfed Dole's; she pulls out a small pin and POP -- the bubble is burst.
North Carolina can look forward to being represented by an active, intelligent, energetic public servant -- who -- (BONUS) -- actually lives in North Carolina.
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing
