Let the Trash fly
In an official post at the "blog" on Richard Moore's website comes the following:
There seem to be three possible answers: 1) Perdue can’t articulate why she’s running, 2) her campaign doesn’t think she can hold the stage, or 3) some combination of both. It will be interesting to watch if “hide the candidate” becomes the Perdue camp’s main strategy in the months ahead. Stay tuned.

Call me stupid. Call me naive. This type of BS is dishonest nonsense. If these campaigns want to spend every penny they have destroying each other and handing the race over to whatever wingnut comes along then feel free.
But I for one think we need honesty, and we need to recognize that both of these people are respected Democrats with a lot to say about the future of this state.
I wont be choosing between these two great candidates for a long time. But, comments like this make me less likely to vote for Moore.
PS- Its not a blog if there arent comments allowed.

But at least he didn't send an anonymous little helper
to spread that crap here. He signed his name to it. I don't like it, but at least we know where it's coming from. I do support Moore btw. Doubt there's anything Perdue could do to gain my vote and pretty sure there's nothing Reiff can say to make me not vote for Moore. However, I at least know where to direct my comments, right?
Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.
that is true
but even if(big if) its a valid point, it is only valid coming from an independent voice. Coming from the campaign it looks childish and silly. But hey, at least it wasnt hidden this time.
You and Sam have been working hard trying to get me to like Moore, and this really hurts your efforts.

I guess the way I look at it is
he couldn't find him someone like one of us to blog for them. That's the sort of thing we're supposed to say. We say things like this about Robin Hayes, etc all the time. I think in a primary they're kinda stuck. Too many of us really don't want to dish dirt about Democrats.
Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.
Precisely.
Yup. Those words will just come back in the general, flung at "us". Don't do opposition research for the other side, and for heaven's sake, don't give them talking points!
Personally, I'm disappointed in the Moore Campaign. I like Moore - and am interested in seeing him differentiate himself from Perdue - but not in this way.
I support Moore too,
but not with $$. There is another drain on my pocketbook that is much more important to me.
Besides putting food on your table,
what could that possibly be? :)
It cost more than food
:-)
I've been back and forth across the fence
with Perdue and Moore. I've heard them both talk and they both have a lot to offer.
In this instance, I agree with Blue South . . . and said so at the Dome blog. If Moore doesn't have better judgment than to give free rein to a guy like Reiff, well that gives me serious pause. I know some people who work for Moore in the Treasury department and they're great. Too bad his campaign doesn't have the same level of professionalism.
Sad all around, but I think Moore owes Perdue an apology.
Moore doesn't owe Perdue an apology
But his campaign shouldn't have been the one to bring it up.
1 Thessalonians 5:21: But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
Yes he does
It was a bullshit stunt that was both ungracious and stupid. The buck stops with the candidate and when campaigns do stupid things, the candidate has to handle it.
I'd say the same thing to the Perdue campaign - and in fact, I have.
Both of them need to put a hard stop on this kind of crap or they're doing to find themselves fostering an electorate that is more disillusioned and pissed off than ever.
Right now, Mike Munger's looking like the only reasonable person running for governor, and he's a loony Libertarian.
Speaking of the Dome blog...
I enjoyed your zinger at Paul Stam about his catfish amendment.
Politics as Usual
is going to destroy the Democratic Party both in Congress and in NC.
These folks are getting as braindead as Liddy or the US auto companies' CEOs.
Thanks for letting the people learn about politics, Richard. So who's running against Liddy?
50 states, 210 media market, 435 Congressional Districts, 3080 counties, 192,480 precincts

I've been saving this for a special occasion like this:

Worth the wait
Good one, Greg.

PS Does anyone know this guy? It's surprising to me that he - or Moore for that matter - hasn't made it a point to stop by and introduce himself. Guess maybe the campaign is writing off the progressive netroots in North Carolina?
