It started with a simple email. Momoaizo and Lovex7 wanted to find a time for us all to go to lunch. I was all for the idea and figured I could scoot over to Moore County after dropping my girls off at school one day.
Then another email - how about Seagrove on a Saturday? Hey, fun women, NC pottery, good food. I'm there. You don't have to ask me twice.
Then the emails were exchanged more quickly. What about LeslieH, lcloud and Working for Change? Right! Then there are C. Diane, chartreuse dog, Drama Queen, Nan, NCVoter, NC Dem and Unique.....we can't leave them out.
One thing led to another and pretty soon we were planning a party. Not just any party, though, the BlueNC Women's Conference. OK, it might just be lunch and shopping for pottery and sitting around chatting with new and old friends. Sounds like fun to me!

So, why would I post this publicly? Because, we've decided we can't keep all this fun to ourselves. Mo, Love and I cordially invite all BlueNC women - diarists, commenters, lurkers, and spouses of diarists and commenters to join in the fun.
We will be holding our festivities on Saturday, February 17. We don't have all of the details worked out, but I wanted to go ahead and get the date on your calendars. Do you want to sleep late on Saturday? That's fine. We will have shopping and touring before and after lunch. Need to leave early? Great, just join us in the morning for coffee and some fun shopping. Leave when you need to. We hope to have a special guest or two at lunch, but I won't disclose those details until they are worked out.
Luckily, Mo did a wonderful diary post last fall on Seagrove. She posted some handy links and pictures that I've been sneaky enough to steal for this post. In the morning we will visit potters located on the 5 mile radius map located at this link. In the afternoon we will visit potters located on the 10 mile radius map. (PDF)
We will have more details for you in the next few days. Lunch is planned for The Jugtown Cafe and we are checking with them to see if they are able to cater to different dietary needs.
Please send me a private message if you would like to be included in the fun. We want everyone to feel welcome, however, it is women only. We do need some type of indication of the size of our group so we don't overwhelm some of the smaller potteries or the restaurant.
Any ideas? Please, let one of us know. We're open to suggestions. We hope to see you all there.
