Name one thing

In the wake of Linda Daves starting up the right-wing sleaze machine here in North Carolina, many have observed that the ugly ghost of Jesse Helms is alive and well in the Old North State. Which got me to thinking about what the North Carolina GOP has actually done of value in service to the people of North Carolina.
I'd really love to hear your ideas, because try as I might, I can come up with exactly nothing.

While a number of local dems got on the bandwagon after the fact, it was Sen. Hartsell that got the ball rolling and Reps. Steen, Johnson, and Barnhart that gave it earlier support.
Murdock talked to Hartsell and they worked out the basic idea after the Pillowtex closing.
The NCRC wouldn't be what it is in its present form without Hartsell, Steen, Johnson, Barnhart and the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners who are all Republican.

Republicans behaving like Democrats?
Go figure.
Eh.
I highly doubt the Cabarrus County Commissioners had as much influence as you're hinting at. But then again, I have this moral dilemma where I can't give Coy Privette any form of credit for anything in his entire life.
You might want to check your facts
The Cabarrus County BOC approved backing the TIF bonds for infrastructure improvements at the NCRC site. The vote was 4-1: Privette voting against. [see record here]. So, you can have it both ways.
I would say that backing $90+ million in supporting funding is "influential". By the way, you can read the back and forth that Privette and I had here
By the way, as far as a Republicans "acting like Democrats". The op-ed that was used to oppose the TIF by Privette and his ally Harold Smith was written by a local Democrat lawyer (the copy of the op-ed died with Harold Smith's site)

If I can get slightly O/T...
I've been meaning to tell you a comical story of a former Cabarrus GOP Commissioner inquiring about purchasing a couple phones with voice record features, in order to record conversations. I'll holler at your blog a little later, Mr. T.

Hahahaha!!
Thanks. I really needed that laugh.
So ... should we just make 'em draw straws? Short straw gets the job of cleaning up the biggest mess any administration ever left to the next in line in the history of the effin' world?

Now THAT was funny!
North Carolina. Turning the South Blue!
Not off topic, Robert!
In answer to James' question, the GOP *does* provide fodder for amusement.
(Of course, so do we)
the more linda davis creates this controversy...
...the more out-of-town reportres are willing to visit...and run up extensive bar tabs in local watering holes.
so at least give her credit for throwing a few new dollrs into the economy...
