NC-13 Funny Money Not Funny

Vernon Robinson is apparently hemorrhaging money because, like a pyramid scheme, his fear-factor business model has to spend more to take in more. In pre-election reports he declared $274,932.99 cash on hand while Brad Miller reported $379,831.37 cash on hand.

Of 252 reportable transactions recorded by Robinson only 28 were from North Carolina and less than half of those from within District 13.

Of 210 reportable transactions recorded by Brad Miller 194 were from North Carolina and most of those from within District 13.

Robinson reported disbursements of $40,098.75 to Wynne Sanitation of Butner NC for an item listed as "utilities". Wynne Sanitation, Inc appears online as a trucking and waste company. I guess when you run a campaign like Vernon's there is a lot of crap to be hauled off and disposed of. Whatever it is, it sure looks like an unusual expenditure.

Vernon Robinson has a funny perspective on democracy too. According to Forsyth County, NC, records he has been registered to vote since 1982 in NC-05.

Online records show that he has exercised his right to vote only 4 times since 1999, twice in person and twice absentee. It would appear that he didn't even vote for himself in the 2004 primary.

I want to get a shout-out in FEC records so with this post goes $101 to Brad Miller's campaign to bump me over the $200 mark. Vernon Robinson deserves a strong rebuke and the Republicans that support him need a smackdown. I encourage anyone else with NC roots to do likewise and to consider contributions to him other NC candidates:

NC-13 Brad Miller

The music at the beginning of the ad is Philip Glass' score to Dracula, performed by the Kronos Quartet

Can you say RIP-OFF??? I just PERSONALLY contacted Kronos Quartet's management by phone, which interestingly, is located in...wait for it...SAN FRANCISCO, and the person I spoke with was APPALLED to learn this little bit of information. Could there be a lawsuit in the works for Vermin?

Interesting take on Vernon Robinson at this post by Michael Fauntroy at the Huffington Post. Noting how effective Robinson is at raising money with hate he raises the scary thought of how much money Robinson could raise if Republicans actually thought he had a chance at winning.

I love MsWings comment that if Miller were everything Robinson says he is

I'd still vote for him before I'd waste a vote on a hate filled loudmouth like Robinson.

Meanwhile Robinson's dirty campaigning tricks have circled the globe via international press in the last few days showing up in London and Australia in stories typical of this Canadian report. I hope these stories have shown up in Beijing but who knows how the government censors control what Vernon's Chinese donors see.

Another scary thought as we approach the witching hour: As noted in the O No! Robinson declared in a recent forum that his personal favorite to be the next president is Tom Tancredo. This is the same Tom Tancredo that was present during the singing of "Dixie" with a group of South Carolina white supremacists in September at an event that is getting a lot of attention from Colorado MediaMatters. I wonder what role Robinson would have in that administration?
