Money piles up in hotly contested congressional race
Robinson, Miller each raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in a matter of months - but from divergent sources

WASHINGTON - The Triangle's hottest congressional race is attracting scads of political donations nationwide.
In three months, U.S. Rep. Brad Miller, a Democrat, and Republican challenger Vernon Robinson together raised more than $1 million for the race to win North Carolina's 13th District in Congress. Each turned to very different sources for cash.
Robinson has raised nearly all his money from outside North Carolina -- more than 80 percent of his contributions of $100 or more. In the three-month period ending Sept. 30, he took in almost $695,000.

Miller, the incumbent and a lawyer by trade, has relied on Raleigh insiders and political action committees, turning especially to the legal profession for help. He raised $512,000 in the same period.
The candidates now are nearly even in fundraising, having collecting about $1.49 million each. Robinson said Monday he expects each man will top $2 million by Election Day
$2 million is a lot of cash. As much as I would like to have seen that spent on Larry Kissell and Roger Sharpe, Vermin Robinson simply must lose.

2 Mill will buy a lot of Vernonisms...
Gawd, I feel sorry for the folks who will have his crap beamed into their living rooms.
I am sure their is a Buddhist prayer for this, but it escapes me.

Their plan all along?
no one likes Vermin, even in Republican circles. But, I'll bet they are glad to see him draining 2 mill that could have been used against Hayes.
CountryCrats - my thoughts, my blog.

It could still be used against Hayes.
I may be nuts, but I can't see anyway Vermin gets more than 40% no matter what he spends. I'd just let him spend till the cows come home, flushing all that moolah down the crapper where it (and he) belongs. Brad just ought to go ahead and declare victory.
I wonder why the N&O hasn't covered the fact that the founder of Redstate actually endorsed Brad Miller instead of his lunatic opponent?
