"Some Americans and, perhaps some in this body, oppose the Iraqi operation because they dislike President Bush. I, however, do not march to that drum. I am personally very high on President Bush, but on the matter of troop escalation, I am not in agreement." - Rep. Howard Coble, R-N.C.

"Madam Speaker, where's your plan for victory in Iraq?" — Rep. Patrick McHenry R-N.C.

July 19, 2006:

All Congressmen/Senators have special tags. I doubt someone else would have the Congressman 10th District License plate and a McHenry Sticker.

It's astounding to me that the national press refuses to focus on the splintering of the "Republic" Party.

Pat and his meager ilk spew Bush talking points.

The rest scramble for a safe position to hide behind in '08.

I think the most interesting comment comes from Coble. He's in the safest of safe districts and he came out against the pres. It's not like there's some netroots darling waiting in the wing to unseat him in 08.

I can't blow myself up because America is sticking it out in Iraq and well....I don't want my death to be meaningless. I'll just keep on living and making these IEDs.
