Don't Expect 20% of White Women To Continue

A recent poll said that 20% of white women shifted from Obama to McCain. But never fear.

First of all, I don't believe that 20% of Obama's female support just all of the sudden jumped ship. Palin has helped him, but not THAT much. I think even if it was the Palin effect, it won't last long. Surely if you're a woman and supporting Obama you have to have some liberal in you? Example: If you're pro-life and pro-choice because while you don't agree with abortions, you want the option on the table for others. That's the view I think most Americans have. Palin supports abolishing it all together. Notice she doesn't deviate from the script in speeches and is always by McCain's side. When will they let her campaign on her own? Oh right, they're scared she'll scare away supporters and McCain's own rallies would dwindle in size.

But back to my original idea. Many analysts have said that big jumps don't ever last very long. After the media is clear of all the Republican BS in the next few days, you'll see Obama pull out again. That I'm sure.

I don't think McCain will ever be able to cut her loose

How embarrassing will it be for him if she draws bigger crowds? Rememeber, before Palin McCain had to move fundraisers from large venues to private homes because nobody RSVP'd they would attend. He hasn't been able to draw 1000 people at rallies in some cities. I'll be very surprised if he cuts Palin loose.

They'll have to let her out on her own at least once.

She'll have to debate Joe Biden. Joe is a tough guy, and can be that way without sounding mean. I think he's an honest guy, too. The "prolife/prochoice" - oh hell let's call it what it is - the abortion question is bound to come up in that debate. Joe will clean her clock. And he will perfectly articulate the position of those of us who want to preserve Roe v. Wade.
