Governor Kathleen Sebelius Set to Welcome Liddy Home....to Kansas

Governor Kathleen Sebelius must be planning one heck of a welcome home party for Elizabeth Dole. I haven't been able to verify this with the governor, but she's working so hard to elect Kay Hagan, it is only natural for me to assume that the welcome mat is being rolled out for Kansas' First Lady Twice Removed. (Removed to Washington and then removed to North Carolina)

Here's what Sebelius had to say. Read this and tell me if I'm wrong.

I have to tell you how impressed I am with Kay Hagan and her campaign to be the next United States senator for the great state of North Carolina.

When I was in North Carolina recently, campaigning for Barack Obama, I had the pleasure of spending time with Kay. She and I have a few things in common; we've both raised our children while serving in the state legislature, we've fought for important issues for our constituents, and have stepped up to make tough decisions for the people we serve.

The energy on the ground in North Carolina is incredible. Kay's been gaining in the polls, people in North Carolina are excited and heads are turning nationwide.

If Sebelius isn't planning a welcome home party for Dole, maybe she'd better get started. Kay is running such a strong, positive campaign that some conservatives I know have been attracted by her leadership.

I have a proposal. Let's all help Governor Sebelius with Liddy Dole's welcome home party. The first step is to make sure Liddy Dole is free to attend her welcome home celebration. I've set up a fund to help make this possible. I'm calling it the Free Liddy Dole Fund. Give generously. Let's send Dole home to Kansas, carpetbag and all.

[Disclaimer: the link leads to an ActBlue Account to support Kay Hagan and it is really called the Kay Hagan for U.S. Senate fund.]

If you really can't bring yourself to do something nice for Dole

Consider it the Going Away Party Fund for Kay.
