E-voting in Mississippi

So I just voted in my first election in Mississippi's Oktibbeha County.

I asked for a paper ballot, since I knew Mississippi just changed (this year) to all e-voting precincts in the state. Each county can set their own rules, but the Sec. of State's website does not say anything about you having to vote electronically.

Now I did my research, and it looks like I'm very wrong.

I talked to the Circuit Clerk of Oktibbeha. She said if you are present on Election Day you have to e-vote. You do not have a right to a paper ballot.

Okay, fine. I was peeved, but I want to vote, and I'll be damned if they stop me today.

However now I feel betrayed.

I vote. Click print out paper ballot. And well it just prints a ballot for the Clerk to see in case of a recount.

No receipt. Nothing in my hands I can look at and know how I voted will be counted.

I'm going to be making lots of phone calls to my representatives, the Clerk, and Sec. of State.

But is there anything larger I can do to change this policy/law?
What happened in NC last time? Who led that charge?

I feel like I just sold my soul to do one of the most patriotic things one can do.
