Bush and Abdullah
Bush is visiting King Abdullah.
I'm sure the Israelis are pleased:
Several years ago, Israel received reports of the interrogation of al-Qaeda captives who admitted that their organization had penetrated the Saudi Arabian air force, and that it was planning to take control of several Saudi F-15s based at Tabuk in north Western Saudi Arabia, near Eilat, and fly the fighter planes into sky scrapers in Tel Aviv," Gold said.
Poor bastards. And we're supposed to be their friends.
Bush has met the Saudi King before. Oh yes, the whole retinue came to Crawford a few years ago. Weeks beforehand, the Saudis sent a brief agenda to the White House indicating points they would be making during the meeting.
King Abdullah and Prince Bandar met with BushCo in Crawford. The Saudis listed their demands, including a peace plan offering recognition of Israel "and a host of things he expected in terms of the crisis on the West Bank." (The One Percent Doctrine) Immediately following, Bush took Abdullah for a tour of the 1600 acre ranch in his pickup.
When they got back, lunch was served. Afterward, King Abdullah went back to his list:
Bush stared blankly at them. They went down the items. Sometimes the President nodded, as though something sounded reasonable, but he offered little response...
The Saudi packet, they found, had been delivered to Dick Cheney's office. The President never got it, never read it.

Never read it
Sounds like the story of W's life.
You shouldn't have to...
if I've blogged it properly. I can't remember a book so chock-full of telling vignettes. The movie will be a thriller.
