Receiving Hate Mail From Blackwater Supporters

I guess, because I am the NC-03 candidate and Blackwater is headquarterd in the NC-03, I was sooner or later going to become the target of an organized hate mail campaign.
My email box this morning had plenty of some pretty rough stuff. You can say "so what", but when it actually happens, it kind of hurts.
No it does not change my views or positions regarding Private security Firms in Iraq and Afghanistan, but it does encourage me to learn more about the operation in the NC-03, which I will do.

Don't delete anything
and if there are any threats turn them over to the SBI, FBI or whatever agency investigates this sort of thing.

Print the e-mails off, just in case something goes wrong with your computer.
I've received some threats myself about half a year ago because of local politics, nothing to do with Blackwater, and I agree it kinda gets to you. I was mostly worried about my family.
But on the other hand it does strengthen your resolve because it shows your actions are having an effect and get noticed.

Heck, post them all here. These people deserve to be exposed. Heck, print them in a diary on Daily Kos. Get your name in the papers as the anti-Blackwater candidate.

Each one of these emails should be reported. Each threat, no matter how much of a sorry-ass loser the author is, no matter how pea-brained, should absolutely be reported. I would also make sure Blackwater management is made aware.

I believe the fight against mercenaries is one of the great issues of our time. If we lose, our nation will be on a path to moral bankruptcy from which we may never recover.
Even more maddening is the fact that one of NC's once-great law firms, WCSR has sold its soul in service to war profiteering.
Not all the mail was "Hate Mail". There was a couple of
legitimate questions from Blackwater folks, and in those cases I answered. Actually got a couple of thank yous.
Yes they do monitor BlueNC because a few of them actually had my exact quote from teh live blog yesterday. I am sure the "mail-in to Marshall" was the result of that live blog.
I also got a letter from the Blackwater State Department operations division who asked me to visit the Blackwaer location in the 3rd District.

Answer them back and tell them you will be escorted by a private milita service from Montana, who will have more superior firepower then them. Also tell them that you will not try to have a spin drive with their newest product the "Grizzy" since they will have to show proof of insurance on private property.
And most important! Tell them that you are not with the unfair and unbalance Fox network.....
Preserve and publish
Let me be one more voice urging you to publish any mail that's clearly an attempt at intimidation. You're entirely correct -- private armies aren't what America is all about. People beyond the law are not what America's all about. And if people like you (and me, and all of us) don't step up and make some noise, those guys will have their boots on American soil "keeping the peace" here at home, not just shooting up traffic jams in Iraq.
This is damned important. Here on the Internet, we've got ways of shining the light on cockroaches like these hate-mailers. We publish'em. They hate that.

This is a moral issue
Marshall, this is one of the issues of our time. You have the opportunity to join David Price in leading the fight against out of control contractors and mercenary armies. You know more about this than your opponent. It is a winning issue with the military when explained correctly.
You are David. Jones is Goliath. Leadership against mercenary armies is the sling-shot.
Jones has been in Congress forever and he's stood by and allowed this situation to happen. We don't pay our volunteer armed forces top dollar, we skimp. We pay private contractors exorbitant fees instead.
Blackwater is the tip of an ugly iceberg. A few individuals are getting fantastically wealthy at the expense of our men and women in uniform.
There are some government functions where outsourcing makes sense. War is not one of them. Outsourcing war is morally wrong.
For all his prancing and spouting Christian values, Walter Jones has been and is morally wrong on this issue. Demand that Walter Jones denounce the business of war-profiteering by private armies like Blackwater.
Don't let him wiggle out with "it depends." Demand an answer.
