But Windmeyer clarified in an interview with The Advocate that when he saw IRS tax forms last week, provided to him by Chick-fil-A officials, that several of the groups identified by Equality Matters are still indeed receiving donations.

Those groups include the Marriage and Family Foundation, National Christian Foundation and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes."

The only real outstanding question is just how antigay are the groups that Chick-fil-A continues to give to?

Equality Matters included the Fellowship of Christian Athletes on its list because the group had once bragged it could "free" people from homosexuality, even featuring on its website in 2011 the story of a coach who was "delivered from homosexuality."

The National Christian Foundation regularly offers grants to groups that might very well continue to include the likes of Focus on the Family.

Equality Matters points out that the Marriage and Family Foundation, for example, hosts a regular conference on marriage that has in the past prevented same-sex couples from attending. And even stranger, that foundation is run from the same address as Chick-fil-A's headquarters in Atlanta. It was founded in 2007 by a member of the Cathy family.

and is wishing he kept his mouth shut. He may get a small surge in visits while the bigots do their support thing, but they will forget. Those offended will never forget.

This has not been a great year for us...although it's better. Nan had terrible pain for a year...12 effing months...finally got a spinal cord stimulator surgically implanted. She's now a bionic woman...battery in her behind...but almost no more pain. We've also had several family and friend deaths that weren't unexpected, but still....

I've cut back all around on my net-tubes time. Read some...post a little...now and then I get a burr under my saddle and go nuts, but I've decided it's time to pass the curmudgeon baton to those not as jaded and still hopeful...if there are any. Planning a 3 week trip to Italy and was online today with TrenItalia making train resv from Venice to Florence. Amazing...38 Euros for both of us...2 hour high-speed train. It helps to understand Italian...and after almost 3 years of self-study and with a tutor, we do! You can reserve seats 4 mo in advance and get the great ticket deals. In a few days I can do Firenza to Roma. Ya oughta come along! Only go around once, you know...and now that you're able to get rich sucking the taxpyers dry with SS,..... :-) Screw the GOP! Oops, there I go again.

I reeeaally want to go to Italy, and I love riding the train.

p.s. if you go to Vatican City, don't forget the cash. They ain't takin' credit cards anymore, from what I hear.

Been there twice and we're over looking at dead Popes

This time we're going just to savor being in Italy and try not to be typical tourists mashed in the crowds. We're going to spend a week in Venice just wandering around and riding the vaporetto at night and listening to the music in St. Marks Piazza and so on. Florence...some day trips to little communes and then on to Rome. We're REALLY looking forward to this trip.

Driving away customers

You would think small businessmen would be loathe to drive away customers. Chick-Fil-A management inserted their collective feet in their mouths last year and lived to regret it, when revenue dropped off and zoning boards suddenly decided they didn't need Chick-Fil-A in their towns.
