Obama - Who Are You

It seems to me that there is a real question here yet to be asked and answered of Obama. He is, after all running for the Democratic Presidential Bid.

He speaks so well to us of what he wants to do. He tells us what others are not doing, and then tells us we have to "Talk About Race".

Okay, I listened. I thought, and that is good. Well done.
Now, can you answer who are you - really?

I did not look at you as though you were black. I knew you were, but that was not what "jumped" out about you. Your race, whatever it is doesn't beg me to lean your way. It is what you have done, what you really mean and what you can really do. I don't care that Rev. Wright is black. I care about the fact that you were so close to him, and how you could not know what his sermons said. I know anyone can get lost in a sermon about much. I have attended prodiment black churches and always came out feeling "the good" of sermon. How could I not?

I want to know more, because it is not just what Rev. Wright said. It is how you treated it as a time for a "Race" speech. It was very moving, but it did not answer the question that is still in my mind. Who are you?

I know about some of your claims of experiences and things you said you have done, but those are somehow embellished. I really don't care that embellishment happens, but you did not have much to go on from the start.

Now, you say to people that you don't take money from big oil companies, but in fact you do via bundling. Every politician does it. Not every claims they don't. You do. Who are you?

I admit, I like listening to your speeches. I like the loud vociferous proclamations you are able to trump out. It is very easy to be captured by you while you are speaking. But, underneath that, Who are you?

You speak of Hope and Change. Many others have done the same. Why are you so different? Is it because you say it so much louder and so much more articulately? Who are you?

Senator Obama, Who Are You Really?

Hello cyberpol

and welcome to BlueNC.

I will reserve comments on this post for a bit if you don't mind.

Will you make a similar thread for Hilary?

For McCain?

Why are you asking this here?

Obama doesn't read this blog ... he's kinda busy these days. So why ask him who he is here? If you really wanted to know, you could contact the campaign, rather than jumping in with Hillary talking points.

James

PS It's a good thing you don't care that embellishment happens, given the flurry of embellishment that somehow transformed the First Lady into the Secretary of State.

I thought she was the prez?

just had to say that.

Well that sort of oratory has worked so well for

the current occupant of the White House, why not try it again? :)

So much material to work with

There is this non sequitur:

I know anyone can get lost in a sermon about much.

...and I want to know more about this:

I have attended prodiment black churches

Should you really be curious and not just trolling...

Should you really be curious and not just trolling, pick up a copy of Dreams from my Father. It's only about $9 at Costco. In that amazing book, he tries to answer that question for himself. You can follow along.

P.S. I'm kind of curious how you, who know so little, seem to know that Obama "embellishes" his "claims of experience"? Sounds like trolling to me.

And Helms begat Reagan...

Arguably, Ronald Reagan's Helms enabled win in the 1976 NC primary was all the encouragement he needed to try again in 1980, setting the stage for the Reagan Revolution and synergistic escapades like this one...

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
