OMG! Teh gayz is ruining teh military!

From Think Progress via NC Policy Watch.

  • Repealing DADT has had no overall negative impact on military readiness, including cohesion, recruitment, retention, assaults, harassment, or morale.
  • Greater openness and honesty post-repeal may have actually increased understanding, respect, and acceptance.
  • Recruitment has remained robust.
  • Retention was unaffected by repeal. Only two individuals’ departure can be tied to repeal, both military chaplains.
  • There has been no increase in violence within units; in fact, many harassment disputes can now be resolved in ways that were not possible when service members could not disclose their sexual orientation.
  • Unit morale was not impacted.
  • LGB servicemembers did not come out en masse.

As Mr. Schofield wisely observes, the same would be true if gays had the right to marry. No heterosexual marriage would be put at risk ... and the only people who would suffer are religious zealots who would no longer be in a position to impose their beliefs on others.

Come on, North Carolina!

Do what Jesus would do. Love thy neighbor. Make peace not war. Take care of those most in need.

Do good. Be nice. Have fun.

Gee, how can they tell?

......military readiness, including cohesion, recruitment, retention, assaults, harassment, or morale.....every category is a shambles these days...oh, and they left out a soaring suicide rate.

Against that background noise, I doubt very seriously that this finding is worth the paper it's written on...not positioning either way, just sayin'....
