Best quote of the bunch from yesterday's letter to the good people of the 10th District:

What we have in Rep. McHenry is a mongrel cross between a lap dog and a pit bull who appears bred for personal gain and political advancement.

Lemon Car

My toddler son likes the lemon law ad that has been on the right for a few weeks. When I'm on the computer at home, he always asks to see the "lemon car."

Forgot to share this

when I got it from my son. It should be used as an instructional video for all non-neocons who are interviewed or challenged by a Fox news reporter. I'll just paste his email with the link in it.

This is unrelated, but I found this interview linked on some forums:

http://www.foxnews.com/video2/video08.html?videoId=1fd1c0cf-5c80-4d75-99...

It's a Catholic priest defending Wright and Farrakhan. The interviewer throws all kinds of sleazy questions at him and the priest doesn't let any of it fly. It's really pretty amazing.

McCain - The Third Bush Term

That John McCain Banner accomplishes its purpose. It scares the mess out of me every time I see it!

Maybe after the primaries are all over and there is a Democratic Nominee, you can make a smiling banner that won't be so scary. (of our nominee).

What's up with Sen. Tony Rand?

Did anyone see this at WRAL?

Sen. Tony Rand, D-Cumberland, countered that the current system is unfair, with all drivers paying a surcharge that funds a coverage pool for risky drivers.

"There are many ways to look at this," Rand said. "One way is that it would be lower rates for some people who don't have to subsidize. What we're trying to do is get the subsidy out of this."

"This is very easy to make a lot of trite statements about 'we're protecting people.' But this is a very difficult problem to try to get straight," Rand added.

That will be a great question to ask Wayne Goodwin tonight, Mo.

Just a reminder, Wayne Goodwin, candidate for Insurance Commissioner, will be here tonight at 7 pm, to answer questions just like that.

Thank you Linda

for moving it and opening a Wayne Goodwin thread. I looked for it earlier before I posted the question and all I could find was this open thread.

I would submit to Sen. Rand,

as a woman who has never had an accident in 28 years of driving, that in a state where everyone is required to have a car if they want to work or get to school or get to a shopping center, making sure auto insurance is affordable is paramount. I would respectfully tell Sen. Rand, "You give us an efficient statewide light-rail communter system and THEN we can talk about giving me a $10 a month break on my insurance and charging other people more than their monthly rent for car insurance after they've had an accident."

I'm afraid Mr. Rand may have too many golf/tennis/fishing buddies in the insurance industry. Maybe he just needs a wider circle of friends.
