First, we have the Democrats, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Okay, okay. Not bad. They both look more distinguished, a little tired, a little older. But, all in all, not bad.

So, now let's see the Repub.........HEY, WHAT THE HECK!!!!

As Bill Maher would say, "He's old, folks!"

Submitted by ProudProgressive on Wed, 04/30/2008 - 6:48pm.

sorry to make a post just about this, but does anyone have the debate footage? From what I've heard, it was amazing and Jim Neal kicked ass. I am dying to see it.

that's what Open Threads are for : )

Then, you have a nice friendly reader provide you with a link.

haha i was

wondering what those were for. j/k. so I'll say it here:

DOES ANYONE HAVE THE NEAL/HAGAN DEBATE FOOTAGE? (hope that doesn't seem like I'm yelling...)

errrrr.....did you all not see that sentence above....

"provide you with the link" that was, you know, a link?

oops

sorry to be an ass. thanks P. btw, Williams was very impressive in the debate. i met him at the big rally in Lumberton last night, he seemed like a wonderful person. very genuine and whip smart. Jim Neal of course rocked the debate. But I like Williams a lot.

Thanks Robert

too bad

Hillary already looks like that without a ton of make-up on. Ah the gender double standards of politics... come to think if it, I bet Obama wears old man make up to look more seasoned.

Heath Shuler on the Cliffside Coal Fired Plant? position?

Can anyone give me a definite reference to Heath Shuler's position on The Cliffside coal plant?

i am trying to find out whether Heath has taken a position or not. pro or con.

Sorry I'm not around much today

I have to leave. Katie is getting braces and I don't have access to internet. I'll be back this evening. If you need anything...........tough! :D Well, until about 6 p.m.

I heard Fred Smith on NPR as I was driving home.

In one breath he's saying how we have to have a 4 billion dollar bond referendum to pay for road construction.

The next thing out of his mouth was that we have a budget surplus of billions of dollars, highest tax rate in the SE, blah, blah, .... and so we need to cut taxes.

Hey Mr. SMith, why not just ..... no, I can't say it.

But I can say ...
Please North Carolina, don't send Mr. Smith to Raleigh.

And Helms begat Reagan...

Arguably, Ronald Reagan's Helms enabled win in the 1976 NC primary was all the encouragement he needed to try again in 1980, setting the stage for the Reagan Revolution and synergistic escapades like this one...

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
