Orr running for gov

Former Supreme Court Justice Robert Orr is going to run for governor.
Via the AP:

RALEIGH, N.C. — Bob Orr, a former state Supreme Court justice who has filed legal challenges to North Carolina's tax incentive programs and the state's new lottery since leaving the bench, said Tuesday he will run for governor in 2008.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Orr said in the next week he will file paperwork creating the campaign committee that will allow him to start raising money for a gubernatorial bid. Orr is the first Republican to formally announce his intention to replace Democratic Gov. Mike Easley, who is barred by state law from seeking a third consecutive term.

Some quick advice: with the Canes and all the transplants, skip Bob and go straight to Bobby.

Just heard that on NPR

Glad you brought it here. I remember diaries written about him, I was going to link here, still looking.

No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.

I love the Bobby!

But for all things sacred and holy (or whats left for hockey) don't give the guy ideas!! ;)

Our children need to know that some people fought back, when others collaborated.

No committee necessary

Bob Orr is Art Pope's chosen one. Orr didn't need to talk to anyone to make this decision, just the Puppetmaster. Pope has no doubt promised to take electioneering to a sleazy new art form to fully fund Orr's run for the governors mansion.

ORR Bless by a Hockey Puck by the Pope?

. Orr didn't need to talk to anyone to make this decision, * A

Stunned! Shock! We had no knowledge or warning about this impending campaign for Art. What's next? Orr running for Lt Gv to really corner the political market for Art at the Raleigh Country Club. Boy! I wager Fred[pave them over Fred]is really piss now and Billy Graham will most likely be converted to a Muslin brotherhood sect to corner the Republican Taliban market.

the pig-dogs

Under the leadership of this deviant to the social welfare, the capitalist pig-dogs will seek to advance their misguided cause of free markets and "personal liberty," following a belief that such ideals promote economic growth, benefit the proletariat, and further some abstract idea of "freedom." However, enlightened citizens know that the state is best positioned to make choices for individuals and that such "personal liberties" should be curtailed and controlled in order to channel such ambitions to the greatest avenue of social benefit, as mapped out by the planners.

We should seek a genuine socialist-minded candidate who will disregard such freedoms in the interest of the public to oppose this pig-dog who would imprison the people of this state with an unnecessary psychological attachment to some abstract perceptions of "freedoms" that he believes would be embodied in a so-called "bill of rights." Planners should beware of the limits such a candidate would place on their ability to enforce their wise decisions on the people for their own benefit.

Enlightened citizens of America...I call on you to cast off archaic notions of private property and cede your belongings to the omnipotent state. Follow me, comrades, into the enlightened century of benevolent central planning! Vive la revolution!
