Correction.

Robert P. has left the ballpark. ;) At least I hope so.

Based on personal communications with a dozen family members...

I think Obama has lost the white, rural vote that he had managed to pick up. I guess it depends how many of those people now just stay home instead of voting against him. I don't think they are crazy about Hillary.

I always get these wrong

On Super Tuesday I called almost every single state wrong. I'd have done better if I flipped a coin.

White rural Republicans are staying home

I've put about the only signs for Democratic candidates out in much of Union County. Almost every precinct is loaded with Republican signs and Democratic voters. Go figure.

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

Skewed view from this Republican County

We don't have anyone showing up at the polls. We might have record Democratic turnout, but since most precincts have a majority of Republican voters the fact that the Republicans have simply stayed home today makes some of the polls seem dead. We're also on country time. Folks trickle in all day with few lines at the polls. I kept hearing unaffiliated voters asking for Democratic ballots as we were standing in the very short line to vote this morning. I'm sure this evening will be busier. I'm about to head back out. Here are my predictions.....

Obama + 12

Hagan +15 I think Mecklenburg County (BPC endorsement) will help Neal beat all predictions by the polling firms

Perdue +9

Dalton - no runoff

Anderson and Donnan in runoff

Goodwin

Cowell

Wood

Atkinson

Ruth and Wynn

This isn't how I want a few of these to turn out, but this is how I think it will turn out. I'm hoping all of Anderson's endorsements pull it out for her. We'll know soon enough.

North Carolina. Turning the South Blue!

Out of the mouths of babes...

(Before I start, it is important to note that my wife and I don't really talk politics at home, especially when our son is awake.)

I flipped to the news right at six. Of course, it was about the primary.

My son, who is not quite three, said, "They said Obama."

I said, "yes they did."

He said, "What's the other one's name?"

I replied, "Hillary Clinton."

He replied, "Clinton not win. Obama win."

I said, "are you sure?"

He replied very firmly, "Yes, Obama win, not Clinton."

There you have it.

Cute

I was at the precinct from the time it opened to the time it

closed. I am so pissed - The polls closed at 7:30, and by 7:35, we were in the car on our way home, tuning in CNN - AND THEY HAD CALLED THE PRIMARY. Freakin' CNN. Freakin' MSNBC.

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
