Labor Commissioner Candidate Robin Anderson Outraises Republican Incumbent

In the first quarter of 2008 Democrat Robin Anderson outraised incumbent Cherie Berry positioning herself as the only Democrat capable of winning in November

From January 1st to April 19th Cherie Berry raised $9730.71, over half of which came from PACs. From February 14th, when her campaign began, to April 19th Robin Anderson raised $39,595.34 and to match the commitment of her supporters she loaned herself $30,000 in the final days of the period. Anderson took in 7 times as much from individual contributors as Berry in 6 weeks less time.

“I am looking forward to the primary tomorrow and challenging Berry in the fall. North Carolina deserves a Commissioner who will fight for working families.” Anderson said, “I am committed to winning this seat in the fall.”

Anderson continued, “I started this race as the most qualified candidate with the right blend of policy and enforcement experience that the workers of North Carolina need. After 2 months of solid campaigning I now know that I am the strongest Democrat to challenge Berry in November.”

As many of you probably know, Robin has been endorsed by a numer of different groups, and by many of the people on this website. But beating Berry is not going to be an easy task and is going to require a lot of hard work.

Robin has the right qualifications to do a great job as Commissioner, and her experience is a stark contrast to Berry. Match that with Robin's hard work in terms of meeting people on the campaign trail and raising money and I feel pretty good about the campaign.

Awe Inspiring

Turnout Saturday in Wake and Durham was truly awe inspiring. With almost 400,000 people already having voted in the Democratic Primary tomorrow is going to be a huge day.

When you see young and old, black and white, standing in the same line waiting to do the most American thing possible and vote, its awe inspiring, no matter what the outcome is.

Congratulations!

I will be glad when Robin wins this seat - I was so impressed with her qualifications and her - je ne sais quois. I want to say personality, but it's more than that. She seems to have all of the right skills, experience, and fortitude to protect the workforce of North Carolina without alienating the small employers.

I think she's the right one for the job.

Since When is Campbell Brown My Hero?

Trying to get a straight answer out of McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds.

BTW: I'm glad that Talking Points Memo posted this excerpt on Youtube, but since when does TiVo'ing something allow you to brand it with your logo? That's the Wild West...
