Sarah Palin: Cut, Kill, Dig and Drill
Cut, Kill, Dig and Drill. We can probably add deny to that list of words used by the director of Alaska's Wildlife Alliance to describe Sarah Palin.
Environmentalists have nicknamed Palin the "killa from Wasilla," a reference to the small town where she formerly was mayor.
"Her philosophy from our perspective is cut, kill, dig and drill," said John Toppenberg, director of the Alaska Wildlife Alliance, maintaining she is "in the Stone Age of wildlife management and is very opposed to utilizing accepted science."
While acknowledging the climate is changing, Palin expresses doubt as to whether emissions from human activities are causing it. McCain, on the other hand, supports legislation to reduce heat-trapping pollutants, primarily from the burning of oil and coal.
"John McCain was all about global warming and the integrity of the science. The selection of Sarah Palin is a complete reversal from that position," said Rep. Brad Miller, D-N.C., who traveled to the South Pole with McCain in 2006 to visit with scientists studying climate change. "She is disturbingly part of the pattern of the Bush administration in their approach to science generally and the science of the environment in particular."
Just what we need.....another Cheney one heartbeat away from the Oval Office.

Laura Leslie's fashion take
Admittedly, the barkeep covered the obligatory substance (there was none) before moving on to the fashion commentary. But here "hope" that Palin didn't feel pressure is wishful thinking. Palin's daughter is getting married to an irresponsible dumbshit kid because of pressure. Palin's life as governor has been one turn of the thumbscrew after another. This woman understands and responds to pressure ... and her attire Wednesday night was hand-picked by McCain's dream team to make her look less like Barbie and more like Barbara Bush.
Oh wait. This just in. God told her what to wear, which is all you need to know. I wonder if god also told her to follow the path of sarcasm and mockery in introducing herself to America?

Say that again....?
"Effortlessly elegant"? Her attire on Monday was worth $300,000 according to Vanity Fair. I think I could look elegant for that amount.
"Keep the Faith"
Cindy McCain's outfit cost more than my house....
but not more than any of her 7 houses.
God's will
The Stockholm Syndrome appears to be operating in full force. Held captive by the lunatics leading their party, Republicans everywhere are trading in their minds for manna from heaven, cuddling up to their captors because they truly have no other option.
Let's face it, god chose Sarah Palin, mother of who knows how many children, to be McSame's running mate. If god's on her side, why shouldn't every Republican theocrat be right there with her?

As one of five children, I give "mad props" to any woman
like my mother, who can raise a family that large.
But now that I think about it - my mother was never a "pitbull", and never ran for vice president when my youngest brother was still a nursing infant.
Yes, I'm still making judgments.
Edited to add - my mother does not usually run for mayor of a small town and leave it $20 million in debt, or wind up in the middle of ethics investigations, either, which I think are much more important reasons to make judgments on Sarah Palin's judgment.
I'm starting to think she's worse than Cheney
if only because of her rabid fundicostalism. Speaking as a charismatic/pentecostal myself, she's the worst stereotype of that strain of Christianity. The only redeeming quality I see in her is that she seems to be a nicer Marilyn Musgrave.

Oh so that is where Robert Adams got the idea for the
Vogons. Cut, kill, dig and drill - the motto of the Vogon Constructor Fleet. (Or close enough.)
I have heard that Karl Rove's poetry can drive people insane. Think about it ....
