Save a starving reporter
This N&O email I received earlier today went viral with names attached, and ended up at the Poynter Institute. Funny stuff.

Subject: Pizza etiquetteI want to remind you that pizza will be provided tomorrow night ONLY for those working on elections. Please be polite. If you are working elections, you may have up to TWO slices. Thank you in advance for being considerate.

A message from executive editor John Drescher a few hours later:
There will be no two-slice limit Tuesday night (although if Susan Spring chases you with a knife in her hand, you are on your own). And anyone who is here can partake.
Who says they don't have fun in the news business any more?

Election days suck for reporters
They're just killing time until polls close, and then they're scrambling to figure out which of the stories they've already written holds up best given the actual results.
Or something like that.
Happy to announce
that WUNC is feeding all of us tonight. Then again, we're pretty much all working.
BTW, Election Day isn't all that bad for reporters... some of us even get a boss-sanctioned nap. Election Night, however, is brutal - and it tends to run till Wednesday lunchtime. Hence the nap.

Congrats on thriving through a wild campaign season. Very happy to see you leading the way for WUNC-FM on the Tubes!
