Show me your candidate's elevator speech.

Most of you have seen the following video of John Edwards talking at Gnomedex, because I have embedded it about a million times. There is a reason for that, it was this video that turned my attention away from local politics and onto the national stage for well over a year. In this video, John Edwards threw down the gauntlet to the Democratic Party. It was a peek at how John Edwards would run for President, with his head held high and with a lack of "weasel words". This is the John Edwards elevator speech for me.

After the break I'm going to show the elevator pitch that turned me into a big fan of another candidate. I'm asking you to do the same, show me the elevator pitch that excited you about "your favorite candidate".

Once upon a time I posted a blog where I said that I had narrowed my choices in the Lieutenant Governor's race down to Pat Smathers and Hampton Dellinger. Frank Eaton asked me to reconsider and posted the following video of Dan Besse. It made me change my mind, to go back to having three choices. From there I dug deeper and came to realize that Dan was my choice. So, here is my candidate's elevator pitch, what's yours?

Show me the love.

What is it about your candidate that you love? If there isn't a youtube, maybe you have a quote?

Here's my favorite quote from Marshall Adame, who I'm working to get elected to Congress from NC-03:

“Greater freedoms will manifest greater strength.”

You've already posted two of mine.

All though this one, which might be bordering on the cliche, turned my "lesser of two evils" into my first choice for President. I won't post the music video. Just the straight speech.

There are people in every time and every land who want to stop history in its tracks. They fear the future, mistrust the present, and invoke the security of the comfortable past which, in fact, never existed. - Robert F. Kennedy

Well, I don't have a video handy and I am on my way to the local

Democratic Women's meeting and don't have the time right now.

First, John Edwards was was not only my first choice, but I also very strongly feel he is the only person who will be able to really unite this party come Convention time.

2 quick points.

Hillary's health care plan is truly universal as was John's. Obama's is not. Plain and simple fact.

Hillary has the toughness, tenacity and experience to get the job done. (John's own words from Jay Leno a few nights ago.)

Don't get me wrong, I will vote whoever the nominee is in November, but Obama's health care plan don't cut it with me, and frankly, I don't think he has the backbone it takes to do what needs to be done, but that is just my opinion...not trying to start a flame throwing thread people..just my opinion...take it or leave it :)

Silence is Betrayal...an Edwards Democrat.

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
