Shuler/ Carter Event in Winston (Why you should attend)

I am happy to announce a special fundraising event in Winston-Salem on May 15 with Congressman Heath Shuler. We are honored to have his support and are looking forward to this exciting event. Details follow.

I hope that you will all attend, and if you can't attend, I hope that you will still make a donation. Coach Carter needs you now more than ever.

This is why.

Lobbyists in Washington will pay whatever it takes to keep Foxx there working for them instead of us.
In order for Roy Carter to defeat Foxx we need to compete with her on every turn.

Foxx continues to have Republican members of Congress doing fundraisers for her, including the House Minority leader and the Doles. Foxx has already been campaigning against us; she is vulnerable and we are poised for the win.

Roy needs people like you-
people who share his vision of putting people above politics. It's time to send a clear message to Foxx, pundits and pollsters-- a message that says "We are ready for a change and we are going to do what it takes to make it happen."

This is our chance to change the way that Democrats WIN in Western NC.

I hope you will all come out for this exciting event on the 15th and help Roy raise the much needed funds to bring home the win in November.

Let the countdown to kick out start in Forsyth!

And Helms begat Reagan...

Arguably, Ronald Reagan's Helms enabled win in the 1976 NC primary was all the encouragement he needed to try again in 1980, setting the stage for the Reagan Revolution and synergistic escapades like this one...

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
