Sniper Fire Over North Carolina
SNIPER FIRE OVER NORTH CAROLINA - Hillary Clinton tells media Obama doesn't want NC to Vote
Hillary Clinton's latest tall tale is that Obama doesn't want North Carolinians to vote. She went on TV obfuscating to local media and North Carolina Voters. The Wall Street Journal, owned by Clinton's friend and fund raiser Rupert Murdock, further spread the Clinton fairy tales.
She claimed that she just didn't understand "why Senator Obama and some of his supporters didn't want you to be able to vote."
Clinton's claims fly in the face of logic considering Obama's huge popularity in North Carolina. In fact, Obama was just in NC last week and is projected to beat Senator Clinton by 12 points there.
How is it that the media would give free air time to this politician (Clinton) who was recently and publicly branded as a chronic and brazen liar? The Washington Post awarded Senator Clinton "4 Pinocchios" for her frequent and sizable whoppers.

"I didn't understand why Senator Obama and some of his supporters didn't want you to be able to vote"
Sen. John McCain is the presumptive nominee for republicans in the upcoming presidential race.
But the nomination is still up for grabs on the Democratic side. NewsChannel 3's Ann McAdams
had the chance to interview Sen. Hillary Clinton via satellite. Clinton spoke about the upcoming
North Carolina primary against Barack Obama.

Hold your fire
Clinton was reacting to calls for her to drop out of the race thus nullifying any NC vote. Her characterization in a sound bite may be off but it still has a factual basis. As for this question:
First you would have to back up the claim of her being "publicly branded as a chronic and brazen liar" and then provide some basis for denying airtime to anyone thus "branded", denying media the right to air it and denying us the right to listen to it, thus providing you with the material that provides the basis of your post.
Then this incorrect this statement:
The Pinnochio rating is for individual factual disputes not for a pattern of disputes. WaPo is using the rating system for all candidates. Obama has his share of Pinnochios also. I give you 3 Pinocchios :

I'm getting tired of "sniper fire" like this from supporters of both sides.
Thanks, Greg
I was going to say something, but was taking some time to tone it down. :D
Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.
a mis-characterization?
Hillary wasn't reacting, this wasn't a mis characterization, this was word for word, without prompting by the reporter:
The reporter didn't ask: "Sen Clinton, why doesn't Sen Obama want people of North Carolina to vote?"
Go back and listen, in context
That's not actually what she said word for word. Go back and listen This was her opening comment after being introduced and asked the first question by the anchor:

I'm Totally Disappointed
I thought this was going to be a parody thread.

On the Topic
Topics like these frustrate me, if only because it attempts to connect two dissimilar events and extends one incident (the lie about Bosnia) to an unsubstantiated pattern ("publicly branded as a chronic and brazen liar"). It demeans the discourse and really does distract from the message.
If one wanted to, legitimately make an argument about this, here's what you could point to:
1. Sen. Obama has never called for Sen. Clinton to leave the Democratic race. Some of his supporters have (myself included), but never Obama himself.
2. It's disingenuous to suggest that Obama supporters want Clinton to leave the race because we don't want someone's vote to count. I mean, why would I, as a NC voter, not want my vote to count? I think the bigger issue is preserving the Party's shot in the general and we can't do that with a bloodied nominee.
(Sidenote: I also think that this presidential contest is sucking all the oxygen out of the room for other Democratic races. How else would you explain the fact that in the middle of a campaign where both candidates are fundraising at a record-breaking clip, Denver's not able to meet fundraising goals for the convention?)
3. Can the Clinton campaign really make an argument about respecting democracy when several of the campaign's advisers have sought to initiate a public debate on what the definition of a pledged delegate is? I don't think so. Let's step down off that high horse.

My complaint is that I'm sick of presidential and gubernatorial
politics. I want the LG's back. I want Dan Besse and Pat Smathers, hell, I want Hampton Dellinger and Walter Dalton. I want to hear real people talking about real issues and I don't want any more made up spun around stories. I mean it.
