Still a swing state!
Obama and Romney tied in North Carolina
PPP's newest North Carolina poll finds Barack Obama and Mitt Romney tied at 48, representing a small shift in Obama's direction from a week and a half ago when Romney led 49-47. This now makes 27 out of 28 polls of the state PPP has conducted this cycle where the candidates have been within two points of each other.
Obama has built up a lead over the first week of the early voting period in the state. Among those who say they've already voted he's at 57% to 42% for Romney.

Don't let anyone tell you North Carolina isn't a swing state. And please, vote early. The media will have a harder time trying to write us off if the early vote keeps staying strongly Democratic. Have you voted?
BlueNC is dedicated to making North Carolina a more progressive and prosperous state. If your intention is to disrupt this effort, please find somewhere else to express your opinions.

Just moved us back from a lean Romney back into the true swing state category in their map too.
Down ballot effect
NC moving even a point or two towards President Obama, combined with high Democratic turnout, could be enough to help shift tight races. With Linda Coleman ahead in 3 polls, but behind in 2 polls, and all within the margin so essentially 5 tied polls, this shift could make the difference. But if you want to help tip her over the edge, check out her website's volunteer and contribute tabs or go like her campaign on facebook.
