Questions on the fifth anniversary of 9/11

Well it looks like Rove has unleashed his October surprise a little early with the President's speech last night making it apparent that the Republicans will attempt to smear Democrats and all supporters of the Constitution and rule of law as Terrorist lovers.

Here are some fact and things to discuss with your friendly neighborhood Bush lover.

1. Why is it the five year anniversary of the attacks on 9/11 and Bin Laden has not been captured?

2. In less than five years after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. along with its allies had crushed the Axis powers.

3. Why is it five years after the 9/11 attacks and the major Terrorists that we have captured have still not been brought to trial?

Why I hate George Bush.

Why do I hate this man? No, it's not what you think. I don't hate him for any of the things he has done. I hate him for the things he won't do over the next three years that ONLY he could accomplish.

The Madness of King George!!

Besides not really feeling well over the last week or so it seems as if I've had a kind of writers block to contend with. Just a general disinterest or lack of ideas we could call it. I don't know why, I guess just because I've felt under the weather. Of course , It could be the thought of the results of King George's war in Iraq which have been making me feel bad. It Seem's a madness has come over King George. Although some of us here in the 11th District think it could just be a old fashoned case of "Chainsaw Charlieitis". BUT, Paying the bill for King George's war in Iraq, This subject is just to important to pass up! So lets look at some of the effects that have resulted from our involvement there.

Missing accomplice?

Since we're on national politics today, what would you think if you were the prime minister of Israel and AWOL George was declaring "mission accomplished" in Lebanon? (I'm not commenting on the insanity of this particular war, just on the insanity of this particular President.)

President Bush today said Hezbollah had been defeated by Israel despite the group's claims of victory and blamed Hezbollah, emboldened by its "state sponsors" Iran and Syria, for the current conflict in Lebanon.

"It was Hezbollah that caused the destruction," Bush said in a speech at the State Department. "They're claiming victory. How can you claim victory when you were once a state within a state and now you're going to be replaced by the Lebanese Army and an international force?" he asked.

World Can't Wait - Nut Jobs or Legitimate Protestors?

While surfing the anti-Blue blogs, I came across World Can't Wait's website, in which they call for a massive protest on Oct. 5th.

They basically stand for doing something now about Bush and Company, before the 2008 election, and that Democrats will not save the country.

You can read the ad they took out in the New York Times yesterday here. (pdf)

So my question is this. Is this a legitimate avenue to express dissent against our current government? Or is it just of anarchist idiots trying to take advantage of democracy?

The war in Iraq is over. We won!

In case you had any doubts about the level of intellectual dishonesty of North Carolina conservatives at the John Locke Foundation, they actually paid this asshole to give them a lecture on how Bush's War in Iraq has already been won. Under the Dome has the story.

Tired of watching those "Law and Order" reruns? Tune in this weekend to historian Larry Schweikart's take on how the United States is winning the war in Iraq.

Schweikart, the author of "America's Victories: Why the U.S. Wins Wars and will Win the War On Terror," spoke earlier this month to a John Locke Foundation event in Wilmington.

"I submit to you that we won the conflict in Iraq -- historically speaking -- in November 2004 at Fallujah," Schweikart says," and that victory was further ensured with Zarqawi's recent death. Thirty years from now, I think historians will look back at November 2004 as a tipping point."

Ya mean this war? Or maybe this one? Or this one?

Follow the link on Schweikart to Freeperland for a good sad, laugh. And bet on this: thirty years from now, historians will look back at 2004 as a gross error in judgment by the American people to 'stay the course' behind a goddamned lunatic. And the John Locke Foundation will be reduced to a footnote, starved into oblivion when the Puppetmaster finally realized what a waste of money it was.

From a friend of a friend in Lebanon:

You will all have to excuse me for sending this. It's pictures of the bodies of babies killed by the Israelis in South lebanon. They are all burnt.

I need your help. I am almost certain these pictures won't be published in the West, although they are Associated Press pictures. I need your help exposing them if you can. The problem is these are people who were asked to leave

MAJOR ESCALATION

CNN is running MAJOR ESCALATION across it's webpage. If there are "acts of war" occuring, the Middle East could be in for a huge shakeup. This doesn't bode well for anyone.

As if more violence in the Middle East isn't enough, reports are already surfacing of Iran being invovled. Its beginning to feel alot like "weapons of mass destruction" are right around the corner...

The only thing that could make this situation better is for further instabilty in the Middle East to lead to a massive rise in oil prices, bringing $3.50 gallons of gas before the hurricanes can.

Good for John Edwards

I just read about this strong, clear stand by John Edwards in a blog entry by Carter Wrenn and I must say, it's just the kind of thing that will win me over.

John Edwards has called for us to immediately withdraw 40,000 troops from Iraq. Not next month. Or by Christmas. Or in a year. Now. Granted we’re in a mess in Iraq. But where does bringing 40,000 troops home tomorrow leave the troops still in Iraq? Are they safer?
