John Edwards

Synergy and the Edwards Campaign

Synergy: The interaction of two or more agents or forces so that their combined effect is greater than the sum of their individual effects.

Since his loss in the Presidential Primaries, John Edwards seems to have been making all the right steps towards 2008. Surely, a win in 2004 would have been great for his chances, in 2012, but the loss that many saw as a death knell appears instead to be just one of the acting agents in his 2008 synergy.

North Carolina...ignored

I am constantly amazed - but never surprised - by the power of our online community. More than 25,000 people participated in One America Votes to help decide which Congressional races should be my top priorities for fundraising help this fall. I thank you.

With so many strong Democratic candidates, the competition was fierce. I am pleased to announce the two top vote-getters: Patty Wetterling (MN-06) and former U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson (TX-22).

Already in this election cycle, I've raised $6.65 million for Democrats and I'm committed to helping as many candidates as possible before November. I'm looking forward to heading to Minnesota and Texas to headline fundraisers for these two outstanding candidates this fall.

My take: On How {d}emocracy Works

I started this as a comment to SD's new "hearts and halo" photoshop post. My "comment" took on a life of it's own - flowing uncontrollably out my fingers - and soon it was no longer a comment. It was a blog post. Some thoughts here echo what's been touched on by Robert P., momo and others. [AND ... at the end, there's an invitation to join us today at the Johnston County Democratic Party headquarters in Clayton.]

This, the week of the Photoshop flames at bluenc, with the Edwards pics and "Dear John," letters from SD has been amazing to watch - in a GOOD way. Seriously. I've seen more new posters at bluenc in the past week than I have since I started reading here.

More below the fold ... much more. :)

How a Progressive Sounds, My Take on John Edwards TODAY

There has been much ado here today about John Edwards. Mostly from folks that are not familiar with the site and don't understand the backstory. Much ado about nothing in my opinion. So, let me give you a link to the John Edwards speech at Gnomedex 6, which gives you an idea of what John Edwards will sound like in 2006, 2007, and 2008 - a Progressive.

My favorite quote after the break.

An Invitation....

I would like to invite anyone from BlueNC who is interested in seeing John Edwards be elected as our next President to join our state yahoo group.

For more information go to:

North Carolina for Edwards here

We're just getting started...but we plan to be vigorous in our support and need some good minds and willing hands to help. We're building an information database on Edwards and what he thinks and has done to help us the debunk lies and false statements that will surely start to fly when and if he announces.

I live in Wilmington,,,my email address for this project is NC_boatr@yahoo.com and I'd be happy to provide more info. A group of us around the country currently have shell groups set up for every state and 12 states now have members in their group.

Good for John Edwards

I just read about this strong, clear stand by John Edwards in a blog entry by Carter Wrenn and I must say, it's just the kind of thing that will win me over.

John Edwards has called for us to immediately withdraw 40,000 troops from Iraq. Not next month. Or by Christmas. Or in a year. Now. Granted we’re in a mess in Iraq. But where does bringing 40,000 troops home tomorrow leave the troops still in Iraq? Are they safer?

Edwards campaign in full swing

Until this morning, John Edwards didn't even have a tag here at BlueNC, that's how far removed he's been from North Carolina politics. After serving only two-thirds of a term in the Senate on his way to an eventual vice-presidential bid, John Edwards was at once both an inspiring hope for the future and a hard disappointment. One one hand, he brought an important new dimension to the national political debate, but on the other hand, he didn't help Kerry win North Carolina and he didn't help Democrats retain control of the US Senate.
