Bush

Why I hate George Bush.

Why do I hate this man? No, it's not what you think. I don't hate him for any of the things he has done. I hate him for the things he won't do over the next three years that ONLY he could accomplish.

Switched At Birth: Katrina Anniversary Edition

I recently came across a set of images depicting two current residents of the White House. The composition of these photos was so strikingly similar that I at once thought I had uncovered a pair of twins separated at birth. Of course, the circumstances behind each caused me to think again.

When the President talks to God

In case you haven't ever heard Bright Eyes, here's your chance. Ever wondered what it's like when the President talks to God?

Bluto in the White House

In the final scenes of Animal House, the film states that Bluto, the dim-witted, obnoxious, constantly drunk, probably mentally disabled frat boy, would later become Senator and the DVD later claims he becomes President. US News is reporting that life has imitated art:

World Can't Wait - Nut Jobs or Legitimate Protestors?

While surfing the anti-Blue blogs, I came across World Can't Wait's website, in which they call for a massive protest on Oct. 5th.

They basically stand for doing something now about Bush and Company, before the 2008 election, and that Democrats will not save the country.

You can read the ad they took out in the New York Times yesterday here. (pdf)

So my question is this. Is this a legitimate avenue to express dissent against our current government? Or is it just of anarchist idiots trying to take advantage of democracy?

The Bush Administration Works Through the Stages of Grief

The election is still more than three months away and a lot can happen. Still, it's hard for Democrats not to feel optimistic. And the Bush Administration appears to be working their way through the stages of grief over the prospect of a Democratic Congress.

They've gotten to stage three: bargaining.

One of the first tasks of a Democratic Congress is to correct the utter failure in the constitutional duty of oversight of the Bush Administration. Oh, where would we start--the intelligence used to justify the invasion of Iraq, wiretapping without warrant by the National Security Administration, the use of "signing statements" to let the President pick and choose which laws he obeys, the intimidation of scientists and the censoring of federally-funded scientific research (a favorite of mine), the response to Katrina (another favorite).

Rove informs WH he will be indicted !!!

It's about time this arrogant slime ball who's complicity in orchestrating this symphony of shit 29% of Americans call an administration is taken to the shed for a beating.

The administration is unraveling in a spectacular slow motion explosion, a horrific captivating drama that many of us saw coming a long time ago. The true patriots of freedom, those with the courage to stand up and dissent when it was not popular will be the hero's of these past 6 years and not the paper tigers, the chicken hawk, chicken shit that wrapped themselves in our flag to promote their own agenda.

Gov. Easley to President Bush: "Stop Waiting and Start Helping."

I don't always agree with Mike Easley, but I find it hard to argue with the basic proposition that one job of the top executive is to provide leadership for the common good. In this case, Easley wants to freeze North Carolina's automatic gas tax increases ("Nobody ever anticipated that Washington would let gas prices get this high") and look elsewhere for some of the funds to maintain roads. We'll see what the General Assembly has to say when when they get back into town on Tuesday, but it's good to see Easley getting out front on this issue.

Terry Boyle a Raging Boil on Bush's Ass

I'm going to bed, but this is definitely on tomorrow's reading list:

Key Democrats denounced Terrence Boyle on Capitol Hill Monday and Tuesday, after a Salon report revealed that the controversial judge, nominated to one of the nation's highest courts by President Bush, violated federal law on conflicts of interest. As the debate over Boyle heated up, the White House acknowledged that Boyle should have recused himself in cases involving companies in which he owned stock -- but continued its support of the nominee.

President Bush's Approval Rating in its "Last Throes"

At 33%, I don't know if finding Bin Laden would pump his approval rating above 50%. These numbers are from Fox News.

Now is no time for a pity party. This is one of those times when kicking a man when he's down is A-OK.

Since When is Campbell Brown My Hero?

Trying to get a straight answer out of McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds.

BTW: I'm glad that Talking Points Memo posted this excerpt on Youtube, but since when does TiVo'ing something allow you to brand it with your logo? That's the Wild West...
