Bill Barnstorms Asheboro

Bill Clinton’s barnstorming tour of small-town North Carolina is finishing up its second round in the eastern part of the state as I write this; he was in four towns yesterday and did seven more today. But I was in the middle of last week’s traveling show, and I’ve been so busy catching up I’m finally making time to write before it’s all history. Actually it WAS, history, here in Asheboro, and the glow of it all is still burning pretty bright. But even now pundits are piling layer upon layer of speculation and analysis, and after next Tuesday it will all be academic, filed away in some history of the 2008 election. But all over North Carolina, generations of small town residents will remember when the circus came to town.

Bumped, this is a great diary. Thanks. - RP

Top Dems warn Clintons about negative tactics, Clintons "Robo Call" North Carolina anyway

I guess the Clintons haven't heard the old country saying that "you don't crap where you eat"....Or when you've dug yourself in a hole, stop digging.

Dems addressed alarm and concern about Clinton’s negative campaign to the press.
Its funny how Bill Clinton can turn on the charm and swagger to get people to forget his "transgressions". Its like being married to a wife beater and inviting them back after the bruises heal. But top democrats are not being taken in by the old Clinton charm... A key dem launches a shot across the bow:

Bill Clinton in Monroe

It's been a while since I had the chance to go hear Bill Clinton sell his wife's economic plan to supporters in Monroe, NC. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to update you on the event.

First, I have to say that my overall impression was so positive. He spoke highly of Barack Obama and said he would make a good president he just though Hillary would make a better president. Unlike what we see on the national media, he was very positive. I kept waiting for the digs at Barack Obama, but they never came.

President Clinton is coming to speak in Asheboro Tomorrow!

Bill Clinton is coming through Asheboro at 5:30 tomorrow (or whenever; there are two stops ahead of us). Directions are here

I'd post more but I'm caught in the tornado of presidential politics- advance men, secret service agents, political directors, venues, bands, bunting, the whole kielbasa. Yikes!

So....I'm Going to Meet the President Today

I just got off the phone with my friend and we're set to meet Bill Clinton today. We'll meet the motorcade and get our pictures taken. I might even have a chance to ask a question.

Here's your chance to help me figure out what that question might be.

Pretend you are still undecided. What is the one thing you would want to know about a future Hillary Clinton presidency? What is the one question you want asked that would help you make your decision?

President Bill Clinton in University City

Tomorrow, 4/4, President Bill Clinton will be attending a Rally hosted by the College Democrats at UNC Charlotte.

Halton Arena 3pm, doors open at 1pm
9201 University City Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28223

As an alumni and former UNCCCD member I am excited to see a former President visit our campus. Too often Democrats forget about our City and our University, Clinton's visit is the first for someone with the stature of a former President.

Clinton Keeps it Clean

Today, I spent my afternoon with Bill Clinton. You might know that the former President was in Gastonia at the Highland School of Technology giving a speech supporting his wife, Hillary, in her bid for President. What you may not know is that the speech was of the highest caliber and made up for a lot of the tarnishing of the man’s legacy due to his campaigning of late.

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
