My latest endorsement from the anti-gay movement
Submitted by Pam Spaulding on Wed, 05/14/2008 - 8:55am.For those of you who aren't regular readers of my blog, you might want to see the quality of the radical right whackjobs who read my posts, then foam at the mouth at their blogs, usually as a drumbeat to do a bit of fundraising. People like Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality are full-time, "professionals" who spend day and night doing "research" on The Homosexual Agenda, funded by misguided followers and wingnut welfare. Below the fold, a taste of what I deal with on a regular basis.

As some of you know, I run a blog in Cabarrus County called Cabarrus Cheap Seats. Right now, I'm looking for blogs that meet the following criteria:
- Are at least 90 days old
- Are updated at least weekly (not counting hiatuses)
- Have 1/3 or greater content that's North Carolina-based.
- Isn't the official blog of a political or advocacy organization.
Please e-mail me at justin@cabarruscheapseats.com if you'd like your blog included. Here are blogs associated with BlueNC that are already participating in BlogNetNews North Carolina:
- BlueNC

Blogosphere--Chance for better representation for my people.

I am Gilda Reed and I am running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Louisiana’s 1st District to give my people the representation they deserve. All of us are Katrina survivors. We must have a Democrat who feels the pulse of the people. Republicans have held the seat for 30 years and it is time for a change. Government is supposed to be of the people, by the people and for the people—not a government created by the rich to protect their own interests. Over 90% of our Congress members are millionaires. I have no ill will for rich folks and can properly represent them. However, I do not know too many who have walked a mile in the shoes of my constituents. How can a person empathize when he/she is so far removed from our wants, needs and desires? A few courtesy visits, handshakes and empty rhetoric are not what we need. My people need me, one of their own, to fight for them.
Am I up to the task? You bet I am.
On The Wild West, Or, Who’s That Blogger?
Submitted by fake consultant on Mon, 02/12/2007 - 1:49am.In the 1870’s, a tall man in a tall hat would ride into town, hitch up his horse, and head to the local saloon.
Maybe he’d find himself at the general store, looking for a job and a grubstake.
Of course, many others staked their land from the back of a Calistoga wagon, or mined a hole in the ground, or panned a river. They ranched. They drove cattle.
Some of them rustled those cattle, and robbed a stagecoach or two, as well.
Put it all together, and you have the Wild West.
This in many ways resembles modern blogging.
As I look around today, I see a blog universe that has grown from individuals writing “my diary” posts, to journalism in the classic sense, to blogging “communities”, whose existence transcends the individuals posting.
It is within that universe of communities that I would like to focus today’s discussion.
