Cindy Sheehan visit

Sorry to hog the page today.
Got a couple of posts up at The Mill (one of The Carrboro Citizen's sites) about Cindy Sheehan's visit to Carrboro for lunch with the mayor and members of the Grass Roots Impeachment Movement.
She says she'll run against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi if the Speaker doesn't put "impeachment on the table" by Monday. Audio clip on The Mill.

I'm a girlie communist! - Sheehan in Charlotte

This evening the well known rock star and lightning rod of the peace movement Cindy Sheehan was in Charlotte. She was stopping in town while walking from Atlanta, GA to Washington, DC to demand the impeachment of the president.
While I believe there are more than enough reasons to impeach (way more than there ever were for the impeachment of Clinton), I wasn't really planning on joining the protest until I read in the Charlotte observer this morning that there was also a counter protest planned.
Since I'm always up for a good shouting match and argument I decided to take my hybrid to Bryant Park and join the festivities.

Cindy Sheehan visiting Greensboro for Peace and Justice event.

Gold Star Families for Peace Activist Cindy Sheehan to speak in Greensboro on April 21st.

She will be appearing at a rally at Governmental Center in Greensboro, NC The rally will begin at 12 noon.

Cindy Sheehan is an internationally known mom and peace & social justice advocate whose son, Army Specialist Casey A. Sheehan, was killed in action in Sadr City, Baghdad, on April 4, 2004. As an act of protest against the war, in August 2005 Cindy took a stand outside of George Bush's home in Crawford, Texas, asking what noble cause her son died for. She is also a central leader in the movement to impeach President George W. Bush.
