Diane Hamby

Pins and Needles

This last week and a half has been crazy. Trying to move forward but unsure how to proceed. Less than 24 hours before the North Carolina 5th District Democratic Convention and victory is awaiting a handful of provisional ballots from Forsyth County ...

Thank You

Dear BlueNC,

I'd like to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation to all members of BlueNC.

Debate!

I am not a career politician and am new to the debate scene. I am a career educator with a passion for serving the people of our district who have been betrayed by Virginia Foxx and her callous voting record in Congress. I want people to come away from these debates knowing that I am the candidate who will best represent their values, understand the needs of their communities, and always place their best interests above political gain.

Virginia Foxx's Name Calling and Scare Tactics

The Charlotte Observer recently ran a story about Virginia Foxx's comments to members of Charlotte's Chamber of Commerce that were visiting Washington. ("Scary Politics")Surely the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce knew that Ms. Foxx screamed the sky is falling because Democrats control the US House. Her party has borrowed and spent their way into the history books as having racked up more debt than all previous administrations combined. Her party has led us to the brink and instead of taking responsibility she has chosen to resort to name calling and scare tactics.

And Helms begat Reagan...

Arguably, Ronald Reagan's Helms enabled win in the 1976 NC primary was all the encouragement he needed to try again in 1980, setting the stage for the Reagan Revolution and synergistic escapades like this one...

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
