General Election

Obama to Run Ads in North Carolina

Barack Obama kicked off his General Election campaign in North Carolina and will begin running his first general election ad in the state beginning Friday, June 20th. North Carolina, Alaska, Georgia, North Dakota and Montana are among the list of GOP stronghold states in which the ad is set to run in addition to airing in traditional battleground states.

The ad which will run in 18 states, clearly aims to emphasize Obama's humble roots, work ethic and love of country.

REGISTER VOTERS FOR OBAMA IN BURLINGTON, 06/07/08

7 Jun 2008 - 1:00pm
7 Jun 2008 - 5:00pm

We are registering voters for Obama in Burlington this Saturday. Everyone is invited--we would love to have people from Burlington, of course, but also anyone from neighboring counties (Orange, Guilford, Chatham, Caswell, Randolph, Rockingham). We will be meeting at 1PM in front of the Burlington Obama HQ (113 East Front Street) and take our group from there into the community. This is a great opportunity to jump start the general election in North Carolina!

Edwards 4 Obama = NC Swing State?

Does Edwards endorsement of Obama move NC into the Swing State category?

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
