Dole Rejected Minimum Wage Hike Three Times. Dole voted three times against raising the minimum wage. Because of the lack of action by a Republican Congress, the real value of the minimum wage fell to a 51-year low. [Vote 179, 6/21/06; Vote 26, 3/7/05; Vote 257, 10/19/05]
Dole Voted to Keep Tax Incentives for Offshore Companies. In 2005, Dole voted against an amendment that would repeal tax incentives for domestic companies that move their manufacturing plants to offshore locations and use the resulting revenue to reduce the federal deficit and debt by $3.2 billion from 2006 to 2010. [Vote 63, 3/17/05]
Myrick hires illegal immigrants?
Submitted by RBurns on Sat, 11/04/2006 - 2:43pm.I just heard a rumor that Sue Myrick’s family has hired illegal immigrants to work at their restaurants. This would be another shocking example of the hypocrisy practiced by the conservative right recently, and one of which voters should be aware. As usual, the mainstream Charlotte media has chosen to suppress this story for seemingly overt political reasons. Has anyone heard anything about this???
