Edwards 4 Obama = NC Swing State?

Does Edwards endorsement of Obama move NC into the Swing State category?

Edwards Endorses Obama: "There is One Man..." (W/Video of Full Speech)

"There is one man who knows that knows and understands that this is a time for bold leadership. There is one man that knows how to create the change, the lasting change, that you have to build from the ground up. There is one man who knows in his heart there is time to create one America, not two ... and that man is Barack Obama, " John Edwards told a fired up crowd in Michigan, as he endorsed Barack Obama for President.

John Edwards says Obama can win, but doesn't endorse.

Former Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards on Friday declined to make an endorsement in the Democratic presidential battle, but said Barack Obama could unite the party and win in November.

Show me your candidate's elevator speech.

Most of you have seen the following video of John Edwards talking at Gnomedex, because I have embedded it about a million times. There is a reason for that, it was this video that turned my attention away from local politics and onto the national stage for well over a year. In this video, John Edwards threw down the gauntlet to the Democratic Party. It was a peek at how John Edwards would run for President, with his head held high and with a lack of "weasel words". This is the John Edwards elevator speech for me.

After the break I'm going to show the elevator pitch that turned me into a big fan of another candidate. I'm asking you to do the same, show me the elevator pitch that excited you about "your favorite candidate".

YDNC State Convention: Senator John Edwards and James Carville

The Young Democrats of North Carolina has just confirmed that Senator John Edwards will attend and speak at the 2008 YDNC State Convention. Senator Edwards will join James Carville as our featured speakers on Saturday, March 29 at the Sheraton Imperial in RTP. State-wide candidates, including those for governor, will be featured throughout the day. We will also have trainings, a service project in honor of Senator Edwards, and elections for YDNC offices. This year's convention promises to be the best yet.

Petition To Democratic Leadership

Democrats Dissatisfied With Democratic Leadership and Congress

For the Good of the Gulf

In the wake of John Edwards' decision to bow out of the race for the Presidency, many of us have found ourselves feeling like positive change has, once again, been postponed to some future date. It's a hard pill to swallow, and mine is stuck somewhere just below my Adam's Apple, and I can't seem to get the damned thing to go down.

We've talked about how important it is that his ideas continue on, but how do we do this? How can we help to continue shaping the debate as John has, so that these incredibly important issues can receive the interest and resources they so desperately need? We can start by talking about the things that are happening, and look at the people who are making these things happen.

Neal on Edwards

I was reading Jim Neal's blog today and found something I missed earlier: his personal take on the lasting impact of John Edwards. I asked Jim if I could cross-post the whole thing, so here you go.

Senator Edwards

John Edwards has made a lasting imprint on the political landscape of North Carolina and our country. His place in political history has been profound - and I expect that dropping his bid for the presidency is not the end of his legacy.

It was but a decade ago that North Carolina evoked one name in national politics - Jesse Helms. Today, the name that comes to mind is John Edwards.

John Edwards to Be Excluded from Ballot in NC

I read in the News-Observer that John Edwards is being excluded from the primary ballot for May. Why?

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
