Patrick McHenry invents letters; insinuates predecessor senile; Ivester and Johnson smart to stay far away
Submitted by Thoreau on Mon, 05/05/2008 - 4:02pm.
Patrick McHenry, dissuaded with the fact that he can't come up with anything to beat back recent photos made public by Mike Rogers/Brandon Greeson, has now taken his time to begin inventing letters and insinuating that Cass Ballenger, his predecessor, is senile (though he voted for McHenry).
The story starts when suddenly, out of the blue, the former Congressman decided to endorse Lance Sigmon over Patrick McHenry. In the Republican camp, that's known as "suicide", partially because Patrick McHenry will sic every single person he can on you- and that's exactly what he did. Seeing the signed/dated letter, McHenry claimed it was fake (and insinuated it was forged)... until Ballenger heard about it and made a Phone Advertisement for Sigmon (Recording in the YouTube video). Wuh oh. So what does McHenry do? Falsify his own letters!
Sigmon better than McHenry, Barely...
Submitted by micandacam on Sun, 04/27/2008 - 9:24pm.So Pat finally agreed to debate Sigmon. Sigmon still gets points for not violating national security, but his answers in the debate held in Lincoln County make me question if this is an "out of the frying pan, into the fire" situation. You can see the answers to the debates in this Shelby Star article. I am especially concerned with Sigmon's answers about fighting universal health care. The article did not mention if he has another solution to the problem. I guess it is clear the only real answer is to vote for Daniel Johnson in November.

Patrick McHenry refuses to apologize, hides, uses cronies to blame... us?
Submitted by Thoreau on Sun, 04/20/2008 - 5:43pm.Well, it looks like the bomb hit. Lance Sigmon, Patrick McHenry's primary challenger, has officially come out swinging with a press conference demanding for an investigation into McHenry's actions. This surprises no-one- Sigmon's following up on the opportunity that anyone could see open up weeks ago.
But the funniest thing about this whole fiasco? McHenry refuses to respond, and sics his stupid cronies like Wes Climer, claiming he's our mouthpiece. Wait, what?
New TV Ad blasting McHenry's Video and "Two Bit" remark
Submitted by Thoreau on Thu, 04/17/2008 - 11:47pm.Looks like things get better and better- Sigmon's got TV commercials running now. Admittedly few of us will see them as they will probably stick to Conservative news networks, but hey, I might just try to catch an airing.

McHenry's Voting Record, or why Mark Foley was a "good Conservative" too
Submitted by Thoreau on Wed, 04/16/2008 - 8:12pm.I can't take responsibility for this (This was posted on anythingbutpatrickmchenry.blogspot.com), but I love it. Also, he stole my Astroturfing line.
It seems that Patrick McHenry, the man who has now been publicly shamed for his actions regarding the troops in Iraq (Belittling a Security Guard by calling him a "Two Bit" as well as potentially being responsible for the deaths of two soldiers thanks to a horrible PR stunt by McHenry himself) wants us to believe that he's a "Good Conservative". Using his Astroturfing (pretending you're "grassroots" or otherwise pretending to be a "concerned citizen") blogs, Patrick McHenry has been attempting to rouse the little support he has by convincing him that he's a "Good Conservative", even going so far as to say that it speaks for his Integrity.
McHenry ripped apart by Sigmon, Boylan the second "Stewart Drunkard"
Submitted by Thoreau on Mon, 04/14/2008 - 1:18am.
Well, it looks like the Democrats are just having a plain out good week. In the words of Paul O'Connor, Do-It-Yourself Stupidity is in with Republicans, showing just how dumb representatives like Patrick McHenry are like. But hey, us Democrats aren't the only ones screaming it from the rooftops- apparently Lance Sigmon is the only Republican with the guts to actually say a Republican did something wrong, as he tears apart McHenry in this video. God, I love Republican infighting, especially when one of their own breed is the one pointing out McH's many flaws.
But it gets better.
Update: McHenry OPSEC violation possibly resulted in three deaths, McHenry attempting to hide info
Submitted by Thoreau on Thu, 04/10/2008 - 11:52am.A quick update: Many of you have been keeping up with the OPSEC Violation Video Patrick McHenry used as a sort of publicity stunt, where he gave away the position of damage on the internet, which the Pentagon found dangerous, as I explained last night.
The latest update? Around a day after the video was posted, Missiles hit the Green Zone again- this time with more accuracy, heading straight for that gym. Three were killed, one of which was a full bird Colonel. Patrick McHenry's little "mistake" has now cost three American soldier lives. He didn't call them "two bit" or belittle them- he was a catalyst for their deaths.
There are no words to describe how angry I am, or how angry the people of the 10th should be right now.

Patrick McHenry endangers troops, violates OPSEC with video
Submitted by Thoreau on Mon, 04/07/2008 - 6:46pm.
Apparently, Congressman Patrick McHenry cannot keep himself from hurting troops- be it belittling them, endangering them, or just right out ignoring them. Despite his recent attempts to hide the fact that he referred to a security guard in the green zone in Iraq as a "two bit" because he would not let McHenry into a gym at 5AM, McHenry has now done something that makes that "Two bit" comment look worth... well, about "two bits". In a recent attempt to calm the storm regarding his ugly remarks, Patrick McHenry distributed a video to his constituents via his website- a video of him after the attacks in the Green Zone.
The problem? This video has not only now endangered American troops in the Green zone, it's violated OPSEC, and McHenry is in biiiig trouble. I wish I was joking.
Guard, Soldier, or Iraqi: An examination into Patrick McHenry's "little messup"
Submitted by Thoreau on Sat, 04/05/2008 - 12:52am.It seems that Patrick McHenry has fired back at the now very famous (even now on MSNBC!) video of Patrick McHenry calling a soldier (or something to that regard) "two bit", after the soldier correctly denied him access to a gym. So, what's the deal? Does McH get off because he called a "foreign national" a "two bit" instead of an American soldier?
Answer: No, it's worse. Here's why.
First off, let me explain the situation. At a local Lincoln county dinner of some sort, Patrick McHenry told a story about him "bravely" missing a missile attack in a Baghdad green zone. Long story short, McH woke up in the morning to go to the gym, was denied access because he had no credentials, pitched a hissy fit for 30 minutes by some "two bit" guard who refused to let him in just because he was a Distinguished Visitor, and then marched back to take a shower- when the Green Zone was hit by missiles, promptly destroying the gym.
Patrick McHenry lies at Lincoln County Speech
Submitted by Thoreau on Tue, 04/01/2008 - 9:32pm.It appears that Patrick McHenry doesn't know when to hold his tongue in front of cameras. At a Lincoln GOP convention, a cameraman (possibly from the Sigmon for Congress campaign) recorded McHenry calling a solider a "two bit" because he was restricted from a green zone gym, and goes even further by lying about a death in the green zone. Naturally, Lance Sigmon's campaign is out to spread this news as wildly as possible. Gotta love Republican infighting.
