Patrick McHenry lies at Lincoln County Speech
Submitted by Thoreau on Tue, 04/01/2008 - 9:32pm.It appears that Patrick McHenry doesn't know when to hold his tongue in front of cameras. At a Lincoln GOP convention, a cameraman (possibly from the Sigmon for Congress campaign) recorded McHenry calling a solider a "two bit" because he was restricted from a green zone gym, and goes even further by lying about a death in the green zone. Naturally, Lance Sigmon's campaign is out to spread this news as wildly as possible. Gotta love Republican infighting.
Press Release:
"McHenry refers to military sentry as 'two-bit' at Lincoln GOP event, exaggerates story to include death"

Patrick McHenry, meet Irony
Submitted by Thoreau on Sun, 02/10/2008 - 2:16am.Looks like someone managed to pull a prank on McHenry- using his old "nothillary.com" site design, they've made a site of their own- http://notpatrick2008.tk/ - using some of my articles and some of Drama Queen's. This is hilariously clever, though one can only wonder what person had the time to meticulously go back and find this old website and scrounge it up. Still, good for a laugh.
Patrick McHenry hides, lies about his schedule
Submitted by Thoreau on Fri, 02/08/2008 - 7:48pm.We all have been somewhat interestedly watching Lance Sigmon as he takes a direct quote from Patrick McHenry, which noted his willingness to "debate the issues", and takes it quite literally- Lance demanded a real time, old fashioned, put-on-your-bowler-cap-and-tweed-suit debate in the 10th district. Of course, good old Daniel Johnson is staying far away from this- after all, he doesn't have to worry about McHenry or Sigmon before the primaries, but it is amusing that McHenry has sent out his official response.
Wanna guess what that is? If you're thinking "No, I'm busy despite being entirely free on the Congressional candidate with no prior scheduled dates", you win today's prize.

Careful Planning in a world of extreme pessimism
Submitted by Thoreau on Fri, 12/28/2007 - 9:00pm.We, the proud blue of the 10th District, have hit something I can only describe as an impasse. Patrick McHenry, assuming a stance (and height) that resembles that of Napoleon, has effectively paralyzed a district into his own will, blocking Democratic (and to some degree, GOP) attempts to regain control over his fiefdom. What's a district to do?

Tyranny in Office- 5 reasons against McHenry
Submitted by Thoreau on Wed, 12/26/2007 - 9:00pm.Let me be pointedly clear- Patrick Timothy McHenry, you represent the worst side of politics that can ever manifest itself in our Democratic form of government. You are a pox on the rear end of our government, and much like I might have a cyst excised from my body, you must be excised from our government. In this blog, I point out 10 reasons in which I have personal reasons to not like you. God forbid McHenry was a Democrat.
Click "Read More" for my full reasons. I sometimes type way too much for the front page.
McHenry and his 21st Century Wisdom
Submitted by blculbre on Thu, 08/09/2007 - 4:53pm.Our wonderful rising star of the GOP recently illustrated just how much of an ass he is this Saturday when he voted against a Democratic Energy Conservation bill.
Republicans still don't get it
Submitted by James Protzman on Thu, 06/21/2007 - 11:33am.
Among my least favorite things in the world are troop-lovin' Republican hypocrites, and god knows we have more than a few of them representing North Carolina in Congress. But even I was surprised at their recent spate of mindless mumblings, as reported in today's Charlotte Observer.
While support for the war among Carolinas Republicans remains high, Myrick and two other lawmakers from the area voiced critical comments about Bush's ability to convey his message effectively. Though their criticism is mild, it echoes concerns among Republicans across the country about Bush.
U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick said Bush hasn't been able to effectively portray the enemy to the American people. "Iraq became the centerpiece," the Charlotte Republican said. "He has not, in my opinion, done a good job of talking about the big picture, the worldwide problem of the radicalization of the jihadists and what they intend to do."
Rep. Patrick McHenry, a Cherryville Republican, said the president should have characterized the challenge as a "war against Islamic extremists" instead of a war on terrorism. "Terrorism is merely a tactic. Islamic extremists are the ones actively targeting Americans because they loathe our culture, laws and freedoms," McHenry said.
Rep. Robin Hayes, R-Concord, said, "The administration's effort in communicating with the American people has not been very good."
McHenry: Breaking News
Submitted by micandacam on Sat, 05/12/2007 - 3:01pm.The voter fraud investigation rumors are proving true. CBS News is reporting a key McHenry campaigner has been indicted. The person indicted is a former field director for McHenry that cast a vote in the district while allegedly maintaining a residence out of state. That is all the info I have for now, but as it emerges we will keep you posted.
Cross posted at Pat go bye bye.
