Mike McIntyre....screws us again.
Submitted by Stan on Mon, 01/14/2008 - 10:33pm.I've commented before that Mike McIntyre is worthless.
Here's more proof...You might want to read this DKos diary for ALL the details READ IT HERE but here's the short version...
A Republican congressman, who has spent the better part of the past two years on a mission to ensure Jesus Christ has a place in all aspects of federal government, has introduced a resolution to designate a week every year to honor the nation's "rich spiritual, and religious history."
H RES 847 - Because we have to pander to Christians, don't we?
Submitted by Grace on Thu, 12/13/2007 - 7:05pm.Can you believe it? I bet you can. I actually bet most people don't really mind it either. But the House of Representatives voted to officially recognize the importance of Christmas and the Christian faith.
McIntyre Working to Clean Up the Mess Hayes Created
Submitted by Jerimee on Fri, 11/02/2007 - 10:46am.While the genie is probably out of the bottle, North Carolina Democrats are working to undo the damage done by Robin Hayes's job draining NAFTA. Kudos to McIntyre for keeping a campaign promise.

NC Dems and Mountaintop Removal
Submitted by jwrandolph on Wed, 10/24/2007 - 8:41am.Update: Still no word from McIntyre or Etheridge. Please call them and see if we can get them to take a position on the Clean Water Protection Act (HR 2169.) Thanks!
The Clean Water Protection Act (HR 2169) would reverse the Bush Administration’s 2002 decision that the toxic “waste” created by mountaintop removal could be defined as “fill material,” and recklessly dumped into our water ways. This practice has already destroyed over 1200 miles of American headwater streams, and eliminated access to safe, clean potable water for many communities. The CWPA (HR 2169) currently has 107 co-sponsors, and a lot of momentum. But we need more to get out of committee and onto the floor.
We have 5 of 7 Democrats from NC onboard, and we need to know if Bob Etheridge and Mike McIntyre are “wit’ us” or “ginst us” on HR 2169. Please ask.
If you have a moment, please see if your Congressman is a co-sponsor, and take a moment to call Etheridge (202-225-2731) and McIntyre (202-225-2731), politely but forcefully asking that they co-sponsor the Clean Water Protection Act (HR 2169), and take a stand against mountaintop removal.
A quick report on our NC Dems and mountaintop removal below…
Mike McIntyre thinks we have amnesia
Submitted by Stan on Sun, 09/23/2007 - 10:36pm.Leslie H said it all today in her rant about Iraq and I'm not gonna go there. If I got started I'd never shut up. But, I'd like to tell you about a letter I got from my Congressman. I went ballistic! Please follow me below the fold for an example of how stupid these people think we are.
Mike McIntyre gets a Challenger in NC-7
Submitted by Betsy Muse on Wed, 09/05/2007 - 9:02am.Mike McIntyre is going to face at least one challenger in the upcoming 2008 elections, Republican Will Breazeale. Breazeale is not new to campaigning, so in the conservative 7th, this executive officer of the 2nd Battalion, 323rd Regiment in the Army Reserves might give McIntyre a strong fight for the seat.....but I doubt it.
Yes, the district votes Republican, but so does Mike! It's going to take more than a military background to beat the entrenched Blue Dog.
Dry powder
Submitted by James on Sat, 07/21/2007 - 11:51am.Over the past four years, it has been excruciatingly painful to watch the machinations of our Congress inaction. With Republicans in charge in 2004 and 2005, there was nothing the Democrats could do in the House, and what little they could do in the Senate, they didn't. Instead of filibustering to stop the fascist takeover of the Supreme Court, the Senate Democrats chose to keep their "powder dry" for some unspecified battle in the future.
With the 2006 elections, the dynamics shifted completely. Now the Senate can accomplish almost nothing because of obstructionist Republicans like Liddy Dole and Dick Burr. Whereas the House has a workable majority that, in theory, could act decisively on the most important issues of the day.
To be sure, some of that action is happening. Representatives Price and Miller, in particular, are pushing forward to bring some modicum of accountability through their committee work. I appreciate those good efforts.
Unfortunately, those efforts have been met with an increasingly belligerent White House which has no intention of being held accountable for anything. From the outrageous claims of executive privilege around the politicization of the Justice Department to continuing White House involvement in covering for war-profiteers to the new executive order making torture of detainees legal, we have reached a tipping point. Indeed, we have reached the point where all our dry powder must be put to good use.
It is time for the reasonable and reasoned voices of the North Carolina Democratic Congressional delegation to unite in clear and serious action for impeachment of both the President and the Vice President. The integrity of our democracy is at grave risk.
McIntyre Votes To Honor Veterans, Strengthen Our Military
Submitted by Jerimee on Sat, 06/16/2007 - 1:21pm.U.S. Representative Mike McIntyre today voted to strengthen our military and provide an historic new commitment of resources for America's veterans.
The Military Construction & Veterans Affairs Appropriations bill was approved and includes record-funding for veterans' health care, support for military facilities and new measures to hold the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs accountable.
"America's veterans are our heroes, and we must honor them with both our words and our deeds," said Congressman McIntyre. "I am pleased to support legislation that will finally ensure our veterans have the resources and benefits they have earned and help improve facilities like the Fayetteville VA Hospital and local veterans' clinics."
