Neo-Confederacy

Sam Francis and the Paleocons

I'm trying to make sure my posts are germane to this site. As Sam Francis spent much time in NC, I believe this one passes the test.

If we are to more fully understand the Neo-Confederacy, which has been linked to Ron Paul, it is important to look at the Paleoconservative movement, of which the neo-confederates are a part. For the uninitiated, Pat Buchanan most ably represents the paleocons among recent presidential candidates. No one portrays the transition from paleocon to neo-confederate better than the late Samuel Todd Francis, Ph.D.

Faulkner and the Neo-Confederates

I put this on Daily Kos today and didn't get my hat handed to me, so maybe I'm safe here.

I've been investigating the Sons of Confederate Veterans, the League of the South and the Council of Conservative Citizens. These appear to be the largest neo-confederate groups operating publicly today. What are their commonalities of leadership?

Dr. Paul and the Neo-Confederacy

I enjoy listening to Ron Paul. He definitely makes debates more interesting. And as he may not have risen in the polls, but certainly moved more onto the national stage, the detractors were bound to come out. Reports of years and years of racism and conspiracy theory printed in his name are damning enough to give one pause. But Jim Kirchik's article in The New Republic exposed even more tragic associations.
