Submitted by NCDem Amy on Wed, 05/14/2008 - 9:16pm.
"There is one man who knows that knows and understands that this is a time for bold leadership. There is one man that knows how to create the change, the lasting change, that you have to build from the ground up. There is one man who knows in his heart there is time to create one America, not two ... and that man is Barack Obama, " John Edwards told a fired up crowd in Michigan, as he endorsed Barack Obama for President.

ACTION ALERT: Contact NC television stations to demand anti-Obama ad be taken off air
Submitted by Christian Dem in NC on Wed, 04/30/2008 - 3:07pm.(cross-posted at dKos)
As most of you know, the North Carolina Republican Party managed to persuade four television stations to air its despicable ad attacking Barack Obama. Unfortunately, we didn't know who they were. Well, now we do, courtesy of the Charlotte Observer.
Mike Easley, what are you thinking?
Submitted by Christian Dem in NC on Tue, 04/29/2008 - 4:33pm.Cross-posted at dKos
I'm trying to get my head around Mike Easley's endorsement of Hillary Clinton. Quite frankly, I'm mystified.
As most of us know, Hillary on the top of the ticket effectively cedes most of the former Confederacy (except for Virginia and Florida) to McCain. Obama, on the other hand, has committed to fighting for North Carolina in November. I would think that this would be a no-brainer for the de facto leader of the North Carolina Democratic Party. He should have his finger on the pulse of this state.
Sniper Fire Over North Carolina
Submitted by lauraroslin on Thu, 04/03/2008 - 3:40am.Sniper Fire over North Carolina - Hillary Clinton tells media Obama doesn't want NC to Vote
Hillary Clinton's latest tall tale is that Obama doesn't want North Carolinians to vote. She went on TV obfuscating to local media and North Carolina Voters. The Wall Street Journal, owned by Clinton's friend and fund raiser Rupert Murdock, further spread the Clinton fairy tales.
She claimed that she just didn't understand "why Senator Obama and some of his supporters didn't want you to be able to vote."

Presidential Primary Returns Open Thread
Submitted by Betsy Muse on Tue, 03/04/2008 - 7:20pm.Hill-A-Ry * Hill-A-Ry * Hill-A-Ry
Well, folks, I still don't know who I will vote for in the presidential primary, but I still have dreams of my vote making a difference. For that to happen Hillary needs to pull out some wins tonight.
I know this is very selfish of me, but I want North Carolina Democrats to experience the mad rush of excitement on a primary day when it actually matters who we vote for. I want Obama and Clinton stumping in this state fighting for our votes. I want to see long lines at the polls. I want to see Dems with primaries busting it to figure out how to capitalize on the massive turnout.
I want election day excitement dagnabbit! (....and I don't want to wait until May 6 to get it!)
So........for tonight........and for very selfish reasons..........
Breaking my self imposed silence
Submitted by Leslie H on Wed, 02/27/2008 - 9:33am.There has been a great deal of talk about the Super Delegate issue in grassroots circles and blogs of late. The Super Delegate system of the Democratic "Party of the People" feels totally out of whack to many of us, but I have to say that I feel a little better about things today.
I'll be honest, I don't know if posting this is ok. I don't know if I'm breaking rules or betraying a confidence. I'm not going to post all of the original email I got, but recently a NC Super Delegate emailed me (and many others) asking for feedback and advice on how to vote in Denver.

Ignore the Media. Democrats are United
Submitted by Betsy Muse on Wed, 02/06/2008 - 6:25pm.One of the first headlines I was greeted with this morning on CNN was something to the tune of, "Democrats are Divided". I'm sorry. We're what?
This year Democrats who vote after traditional super Tuesday states will have a say in which candidate represents us in our bid for the White House. We're excited. We're energized. We're motivated. We most certainly are not divided.
As nasty as primary season gets, I've never felt my party more involvede in the process of selecting our nominee, even if we don't agree on which candidate will do the best job.
South Carolina Primary Returns Open Thread
Submitted by Betsy Muse on Sat, 01/26/2008 - 6:03pm.It's quiet around here today. I'm collecting some information from different sites on the primary in South Carolina. Some polls are quiet while others are seeing very high turnout. It's chilly and clear, so weather shouldn't be keeping folks at home.
It will be interesting to see just how accurate or inaccurate the polling numbers are in South Carolina.
Time will tell.
