reproductive freedom
My Blog for Choice post is up
Submitted by angry grrl on Tue, 01/22/2008 - 9:26amWhat it all boils down to is this: Abortion is never an easy choice. Ever. It’s not made lightly, on a lark, for fun. It’s life-changing, one of those turning points that you never forget, a moment where you stand on a crossroads. You pray to whatever gods you believe in, and you do the best you can for yourself, your partner, and your unborn child, and then you do whatever you have to do to never ever be in that situation again. And you go out and fight to make sure that other women still have the same choices that were available to you when you needed them. And you go home at the end of the day and hug your family.

"It's Like Having a 9/11 Every Day For Thirty-Five Years"
Submitted by Lance on Thu, 09/28/2006 - 7:08pmYou may have noticed the "Contraception Is Not The Answer?" ad running here. If not, let me direct your attention to the right side of your screen. I don't usually plug advertisers, but then advertisers aren't always doing such good work. A group at RHRealityCheck.org (the RH stands for "reproductive health") sent a sane person undercover to a fundie anti-contraception conference. RH Reality Check has been posting rebuttals to the conference nonsense in a special series on their blog. The quote in the title comes from something one of the speakers had to say, quoted in this post. (The pills are little airplanes and your uterus is one or both of the twin towers, get it? I guess that makes your friendly Target pharmacist something of a Mohammed Atta!)
Anyway, props to RHRC for keeping an eye on the kooky right.
