Right to Know
Submitted by Tommy on Sat, 05/03/2008 - 9:27pm.Shouldn't $1.6 million dollars of your hard earned North Carolina tax money give you the right to know and refuse exposure to hazardous pesticides, herbicides, and chemicals? If Governor Easley can spend $1.6 million tax payer dollars on a pesticide plan to protect farmworkers shouldn't the plan also include protecting the citizens of North Carolina as well. The plan should be comprehensive and not discriminate between industries, companies, workers, and citizens. Tell the Director of the State Office of Rural Health and Community Care, Mr. John Price to implement a plan that protects everyone's right to know when being exposed to hazardous pesticides, herbicides, and chemicals.
TRIAD HILLARY MEET UP #2
Submitted by charlotteobserver on Tue, 03/18/2008 - 3:43pm.On Sunday March 9 we held a lively meet up and started a spirited and sometimes surprising discussion. The range of views expressed were varied, but we all had one thing in common, our sincere belief Hillary is the best possible person for the presidency right now. During our meeting we learned that one of our ranks has access to some very useful information that will allow us to begin cold calling on voters in our own area. Please be in contact if you would like begin calling on folks in your own towns and neighborhoods. We also began an email list through which we will keep in touch, please notify me if you would like to be added. Please check back here often for updates!

Toyota coming to NC?
Submitted by kmr on Thu, 01/04/2007 - 11:34am.Talk this morning about Toyota adding a new Southern plant to its North American factories, with a mention of a site in NC.
From the WSJ:
Toyota Motor Corp., coming off fresh market-share gains and a steep drop in sales by its Detroit competitors last month, is poised to turn up the heat further on the Big Three by naming a site in the Southern U.S. for its eighth North American assembly plant as early as this month, people familiar with the matter said.
Toyota has narrowed the site search for its eighth plant to three to five locations and could announce its choice as soon as this month, the people familiar with the matter said. Among the five locations are Chattanooga, Tenn., and Marion, Ark., they said. Others mentioned by people familiar with the matter included a location near Alamo, Tenn., and a site in North Carolina.
