Mark Meadows: Poster child for ending gerrymandering

We need to build a wall to keep people like him out:

There have been some predictions of a shutdown based on statements from some congressmen that they don’t want to fund a border wall with Mexico as part of a bill to keep the government going, the fear that some conservative House members like Meadows will use the occasion to get concessions on one issue or the other or the possibility of a debate over a ban on funds for Planned Parenthood.

Meadows predicted that Congress will approve funds for a border wall and increases for the military and Department of Homeland Security along with funds to keep the government going and dismissed the idea of a shutdown.

Anti-immigration, anti-abortion, and more money to bomb the shit out of Muslims. When these are your main priorities, you have no business being allowed into the Capitol Building, much less filing bills and voting and such. We've got a lot of work to do.

About that whole "Let's reach out to Trump voters" thing...

The North Carolina Democratic Party is in the midst of a building season; organizing precincts, preparing for county conventions, settling in with a diverse new batch of state party leaders, etc. There are also several formal and informal groups putting their collective heads together to try to fashion new messages, reassess priorities, and check boxes we've previously ignored or only paid lip service to. There's a lot of brainstorming going on, and that's a good thing. But I think it's important we keep some things in perspective, and not allow ourselves to chase after people we really don't want to catch, because, as they say, you are what you eat. Follow me below the fold if you want to hear more, but leave the small children behind, because I'm taking the filter (what little there is) off for a few minutes:

Translating Trump: "They have their place"

Here's a dose of reality, you fuckwit: It's not 1920, and women serve *all* the same "roles" that men do in our society. They don't just fill a niche here and there; they are lawmakers, surgeons, engineers, soldiers, law enforcement officers, and even real estate moguls. And one of them got almost 3 million more votes for President than you did, which pissed you off so badly it led you to claim 3+ million votes in the election were "fraudulent." So you can stick your pseudo-compliments for their achievements where the sun don't shine, and follow it with that not-so-smart phone of yours.

Henderson County Sheriff goes on a rant about protesters

Might want to focus on the meth labs there, pal:

McDonald calls protests taking place across the country “vile and disgusting” and wrote that they “are not a result of the differences between America’s traditional political parties. Rather, they appear to be the result of an anti-American social progressive movement with the goal of subverting our great Republic and replacing it with something akin to the social economic governance that continues to decimate Western Europe to this day.”

“What entitles them to scream vulgarities and to physically attack and ridicule those who dare question their myth-based, passion-inflamed, anarchist ideology?” McDonald wrote. “Well, they don’t like what they don’t like, regardless of how or why it happened.” McDonald likened protesters to “a child playing a board game. Gleeful at the prospect of winning but impetuously overturning the table and throwing a tantrum when faced with the prospect of losing.”

No, that's not your crazy uncle who has had one too many shots of white liquor, that's the dang Sheriff. You know, if Haldol is too strong, making your hands shake when you're trying to qualify with your sidearm, there are other anti-psychotics available. Don't just stop cold turkey, and then scootch up to your out-dated PC and type out a redneck manifesto. Also, don't contradict yourself so blatantly:
