Submitted by WakeVerifiedVoting on Sun, 12/11/2011 - 10:38amDear Wake Dems:
I hope by now you know that big changes are taking place in the Wake County Democratic Party. Both Chairman Mack Paul and ED Tammy Brunner have resigned effective 12/31. This coming right after the 2011 elections puts us at a disadvantage in trying to build our party before the 2012 election season when we will be not so gently urged to drop everything and work for OFA.
My resignation letter, Vice-Chair Wake Democratic Party, Sept. 15 2010
Submitted by mbrock49 on Sat, 10/09/2010 - 1:10amI am sure the question will immediately arise, why post this and why now? I am doing so, as I am told that at the most recent meeting of the Board of the Wake Democratic party some of those present asked why I had resigned. They were told by the elected officers (all of whom received this letter prior to my resignation), that "they did not know why." So here goes:

Re: Resignation as Raleigh Vice-chair Wake Democratic Party
Resignation Effective September 15, 2010
I am resigning after considering the controversy at every meeting I have attended since accepting a “compromise” election based on the vote in April 2010 at the most recent County Executive Committee Meeting. I am still waiting for Minutes from that meeting over 4 months ago, but my recollection is as follows for any not in attendance or whose memories have “faded:”
No, Bob, several possible candidates are just waiting in the wings to replace Jack Nichols--it's not a done deal yet

Wake County Nichols stepping down as Wake Dems chair; Mack Paul the likely replacement
Posted by Bob Geary on Thu, Aug 26, 2010 at 4:26 PMThis will be old news to some, but as a fellow asked me today who's going to replace Jack Nichols as chair of the Wake County Democratic Party, the answer is Mack Paul (his pic is <-) — that is, unless in the next three weeks some other candidate comes out of nowhere to claim it.
Truth to Power: Corruption in Democratic Party
Submitted by mbrock49 on Tue, 08/24/2010 - 7:09amI am reluctant to put this online, as I am not even sure I can legally, for a couple of reasons: 1) I am a Democratic Party officer in Wake County 2) will it be considered libelous? But here goes, as this is something many of you are confronting in your areas, too, I am sure.
I wrote earlier about the new creation of the "Coordinated Campaign" by David Young at the State Convention in July. I said in my post in July that I was just as afraid of our internal mechanisms in the State Democratic Party's Plan of Organization being side-stepped, as I was of Art Pope and his Republican posse. I sincerely, though regretfully, meant that.
